  1. you are senting 1398 and receiving 268 packets show you are on the network but did not get an ip address or wrong vlan. i see this issue very common at work and to fix it, i changed the switchport vlan to its repective subnet.

in your case, i would load the software that came with your china dsl/router/switch device. i had the same issue when i was in china last year at my wife's home. her pc works but my pc did not work, just like your issue, senting more packets then receiving. i installed the software and click on the installed application icon, click on explorer and happy surfing. i hope it will work for you and good luck.

  4. one of my favorites item is shark fin soup, costing 50 dollars to 100 dollars per bowl, depending on types of shark. we have it once a year or some special event, such as weddings and brithdays. once the bill is passed, i can see illegal shark fin selling in all chinatowns and someone will be rich, risking to sell shark fins to resturants.

  5. Check out this amazing photo of firefighters commanding a hose after the Japanese attack on the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

The photo was posted yesterday on msnbc.com's PhotoBlog, and people were wondering who these brave women were or whether any of them are alive.

  6. Some searching:

    Cong's Hutong

Located several blocks from Beijing's ancient Forbidden City, Cong's Hutong is a small boutique courtyard hotel in the heart of China's capital. Cong's Hutong offers an authentic Chinese courtyard lifestyle in its four guest rooms, each with its own theme and named after the four arts admired by ancient Chinese scholars. All air-conditioned rooms are junior suites, equipped with modern amenities including separate bathrooms with showers and wireless broadband Internet access. The east wing of the hotel's yard serves as a living room, which is connected to a small dining room and fully equipped kitchen.

Guests can enjoy tasty meals on-site. Your server will even ask if anyone has a particular food allergy. The hotel is also situated in a bustling area within a 5- to 10-minute walk of plenty of excellent restaurants. Set in an old hutong courtyard building, Dali Courtyard offers a variety of dishes featuring tofu, vegetables, mushrooms, meat and fish. Ding Tai Feng Restaurant is a popular place for dumplings and sesame noodles.

Cong's Hutong is within walking distance of many major attractions including the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Drum Tower and the Temple of Heaven. The hotel's owners speak very good English and can help guests plan city adventures and excursions to the Great Wall.

  8. hi v,

my wife just took her pictures and fingerprints this morning. the process was less then 30 minutes. when i mailed her i-751, it was a big envelope that contains the i-751, copies of her alien card, ny state id, china passport, and our first child's birth paper. i didn't include an outline, no affidavid letters or joint bank account. we're hoping for no interview based on the birth paper alone would be the ultimate proof of our relationship, crossing our fingers. good luck.

edit: sorry, the check was paper clip to i-751.

  9. i would check with a nutritionists or dietitians regarding your food intakes, then follow your doctor's advices. exercise plays an important role in controlling your diabetes, but check with your doctor first. chinese cooking can be healthy if you do it right, such as steaming fish, vegs, and meat instead of frying. use light soy instead of reg soy. eat rice portion the size of a baseball and not a bowl of rice, same for chinese noodles. you should start eating bitter melon, good read on wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitter_melon my wife makes this every week. good luck.
