1. Thanks I too get a little sappy when I think about how much more difficult this would all be without Candle..... 158949 I understand your anxiety. I have one trick which might help: Think of a large project (remodeling your house, for example; knitting your husband 10 sweaters, etc.). Consider it to have to be finished before you finally get together. Then you will start worring about not being able to complete your project, and complain that time pass too fast. This trick worked wonders for myself. On the other hand, get ready for your next steps.
2. Thank you Don and David.¡¡I will take your advice. Besides, my WA driver's license shows that address, too.
3. I have read the posts about the domicile requirement of petitioner. However, our case is different. My husband and I lived in China for the past 7 yrs, when applied we used his parents' address. We can demonstrate our ties to that address through bank statements etc. However now I am filing out the forms again pre-interview, and realized since this September, my husband has started his school in Philadelphia. Which address should I put in the forms for him? We face a dilema. The new address? Problems: -It's student dorm room, can not host our family, we plan to rent a place after get visa. -the address is different than the one we used previously, might cause us trouble just because of that. The original one? Problems: -It will be different from my husband's current place of study. Could raise red flag? -We will live in Philly, so to apply for EAD there. Or does it make any difference? We have no knowledge as to what procedures comes after I arrive US. Both answers are true, but I don't know what the VO will consider as correct. Would some of you give me some advice? I really appreciate that.
4. That's a good thought of yours. I have sent an email to GZ asking whether they can schedule my IR1 interview at the same time of K3 interview. We have been so eager to get together sooner, particular because we have a two year old daughter who should be with both parents. I think it is worthwhile not to abandon our IR1 application. I will check into the matter after receiving reply to my last email. Will let you know. Thanks, everyone. P.S., My husband recommended this site to me (learned from his friend), and I am new here. I can't help feeling a bit worried that visa officers might get the CFL information and use it against our case. Have you had the same worries?
5. It's too bad. I lived there for almost 2 and half years. I guess I could not escape that. I guess, I just have to keep my fingers crossed and hoping it comes before my interview date. What would be the worst outcome? would that be I get a blue slip and submit the certificate later? Do I need to wait for more months to line up for another interview, or worse?
6. Wish I had know your site long ago. You got some helpful information there.
7. Congratulations!!!! Let us know about your wedding. Are you going to set up an account on the internet? My husband's cousin has done that. It seems a good idea. We can send our wishes there.
8. Thanks, Don. I did it. Since you are an administrator, I would like to ask, do you consider my signature to be too long? If prefered, I can certainly shorten it.
9. Congratualations! Could you help me out? I am also waiting for an IR1 interview while having received the appointment for an K3 interview. Could you check your interview notice, what visa category the interview was schedule for? If it stated "K3", but you end up with an IR1 interview, this would be a good news for me. You can also tell from the case number. The case number for your K3 application and IR1 are different. Thanks a lot!
10. Thank you, Jim. I would also like to post the timeline info like you did, so to share experience with others. How did you do it?
11. Did you live in Canada for over a year? If so it is likely they will ask for it. People have been denied before for police certificates being expired only one day. Do your best to get it. Perhaps write or call canada to see if they can expidite the service for you. You may need to wait until you get it tor receive your visa. 158245 Thanks Carl. If I don't get that doc before my interview day, could I contact GZ to delay the interview. Would they delay it for a short period of time?
12. Thanks Joanne>? Anyway Joanne, perhaps you can take a moment for those of us that are less fortunate and educated and enlighten us regarding the country of your citizenship? Where were you born? Why did you decide to live in China..... 158254 Of course. I just assumed that all people are related to American-Chinese marriages. I am an authentic Chinese, born here with both Chinese parents. But I studied overseas. My husband is very much interested in Chinese language and culture. We feel comfortable with both countries, and decided to live in China for the past few years. But now my husband is attending law school in the States. We don't want to be seperated for so long. So I, with our youny daughter, want to join him there asap,
13. Embrassed by my typos. I mean "We" have a two year old daughter, and we live in China for the past 7 years. 158244 I have some other concerns: - Is it necessary for my husband to be at the consulate during my interview? He is back in the States now, and will be busy dealing with his first batch of law school exams. (Two years ago, I would sure been denied a B1/2 visa by the VO at Shanghai, if my husband wasn't there to explain our situation. That VO plainly said to me that my "story" was not "logical". She couldn't understand why I still hadn't applied for an immigrant visa.) - I had two applications going on, IRI and K3. My scheduled interview is for K3. And I have been notified that my IR1 case has already been passed to GZ. Should I go to that K3 interview or wait for my IR1 interview, or else. According to the time IR1 should come along soon. Or is there any way to request them to perform IR1 interview for the time they allocated to me? Thanks a lot for your help!

15. My interview is comming up in November. One thing worries me is that I still haven't received the criminal record check result from RCMP of Canada. I sent an enquiry by email and got an reply saying that the processing time for the canada criminal record check generally exceeds 150 days, and they registered my case into their system mid July, one and half months after I sent out the express mail of application. I was a student there and left Canada soon after my program ended. I have my degree certificate. Do you think not be able to show the Canada police certificate would be a bases for refusal? (We have been married for over ten years and has a daughter. Lived in Chinese for the past 7 years.) Thanks for your helpful input.
