  1. Chun has a handful of different companies she uses on a regular basis one of the big ones is China Telecom.... when she wants to call me she can but we usually hang up and ill dial right back since i pay just 2 cents a minute i think they cost 100RMB and are good for like an hour.... they are the same ones you buy at the airports....just ask for I.P.CARD
  2. how long does it usually take for SO to be able to travel outside the country let alone back to China? will it be an issue?
  3. so you turned her family on to some real sauce huh? very nice... we were at a decent italian restaurant last weekend in beijing called La Dolce Vita
  4. i usually have it written all over my face..... CHECK THIS GUYS BAGS he has lotsa DVD's inside, but ive been lucky as well... Beijing took away some chinese liquor on the way home once...her mom stashed in my bag without me knowing....i was like....i dont know where that came from never been checked in beijing coming in though
  5. i think thats such a touchy a subject and none of us really know unless we have our own children how we will react, we all want perfect kids but that ofcourse is not going to happen...specially with my jeans my dad is waitting for my first one to come along so he can laugh at me... i think kids will push as far as you let them go.they will test to see how far they can pass that line... the punishment is something that you had your spouse determines and no one elses business. when i was a kid my dad used to say meet me in the bathroom in 5 minutes....i could never understand why he took so long to get there....he tells me he needed time to cool down...
  6. my hippychick's music has a huge range between Linkin Park AC/DC to Massive Attack and Portishead, Astrud Gilberto, Stan Getz, Dave Brubeck for western jams.... B) sad to admit she listens to some Hip-Hop beats as well including Snoop and DRE... she likes a bunch of chinese artists as well including Faye Wong and a bunch of names i am still unfamiliar with.
  7. there are a few companies who are using Voice over IP via the regular phone lines, which is how they are getting the penny a min calls. dynasky however is not one of them dynasky is a us/china specific phone card, its up time is about 98% it would be a good alernative to Onesuite. understanding that you guys are pleased with OneSuite results there is always those times when you try to call your girl and can not reach her because the phone lines are down for one reason or another.... i dont like to wait i usually just dial my alternative calling card and im talking with her in no time. i suppose you can consider it my calling card redundency.
  8. ive been using http://www.dynasky.com/ all year and am very happy with it.... when you use local numbers i pay just 2 cents a min.... i believe its VoIP i have just a couple times that the numbers are down..... it would be nice to have a backup company to use for those times..
  9. well we finally got the approval after 4 months sitting at CSC the lawyer sent me a note saying petition has been approved so i guess we need to wait for 30 days for the VC to send me a letter... (my thumbs are twiddling patiently) i just got home from beijing on sunday and it seems harder then before i left to cope without her. the lawyer is still saying march/april interview.... here is a question for you guys what happens if she gets her k1 visa in hand and we get married over in china for her family. is that possible to not officially tie a knot over there.....how does US see that.... sorry my ignorance
  10. wow!! come on guys its not the US, granted....David you said it..."when in China do as the chinese" ....i could not have said it better. its a different world, the stares dont bother me. specially the old folks can not understand why she is with a westerner. i was only in beijing and the biggest thing that i thought was incredibly different from miami was the driving. the drivers say alot about the people. it took a while for me to realize what was happening on the busy streets but i was amazed how it worked so well. we traveled the Chu-su Chur (my roman english translation of taxi) everywhere... there might as well not be any lanes for the cars to stay in....i driven in the worst of traffic jams in the most congested cities in america and i could not drive in beijing. untili realized that the way they drive works.... they all drive curtiously (comparitvely speaking to like miami or boston) they merge politely. if you would try to drive the way they drive in beining in miami you'd have a gun pointed at you. GET OUTTA MY LANE!!!! but beijing drivers love to use there horn as to say "im here let me in" and its granted.....same with the bikes. i could never live more then a day or 2 riding a bike in BJ or SH..... the begging seems to be a little more prevalent....a couple of 4 and 5 year olds approached me with there hands out and my girl pointed out the mom 20 yards away coaxing them. beijing is a big city with the same problems as any other big city across the globe. i love beijing, i love that im able to travel there. im very lucky
  11. im curious about that as well Hank... how long will it take once she arrives that she will be allowed to visit China?
