how long or what is the process to go from K1 to be able to work in the US? mike

I have heard GZ is not moving until late july maybe august. mike

just to ask a question, did most of you who got married and then applied for the visa think it would be a faster process?? i know K3 and cr1 are the longest, and K1 is the fastest, just wonder if anyone looked into this prior to getting married. any thoughts on this? whats the longest way? k1,k3 cr1? mike

its like this, if the package sent from NVC is less than 2 kilograms it will clear in 3 days or less, anything over than can take 30 days or longer, trust me my SO called the China customs and this is what they told her and our package sat in delay for 32 days. also when it does clear it goes to a holding facility to get x-rayed and decantaminated by GZ workers which will take longer and GZ doesnt pick up the packages in "the order recieved" either. so be patient it will get to GZ .......eventually mike

what i see in timelines is 4 months from p3 to p4, am i right? mike

well seems a few of us are not so far apart in timelines Dos said my SO's namecheck was completed on May 25th, I emailed GZ and they said my SO is being "qued" up for scheduling and the interview should be in a "few" months, so tell me.....should I think the interview will be in August? mike

Hi again, congrats on the 3 for 3!! I called DOS last friday, the name check was completed on May 25th and DOS says eligible for interview and waiting to be scheduled for interview. my question is how long from name check to P4? i have seen recently 2 people here on CFL from namecheck to P4 is around 50 to 60 days, is this correct? What about line 11? it ask do i intend or not inted to provide specific contributions. i am the sponsor but i will have a cosponsor for backup reasons, it asks about room and board and money given weekly,anually,monthly. i will provide for her she will be my wife, are they asking something different? mike

Hi everyone first i want to say congrats on everyones progress and recent visas!! my girl passed her name check on may 25th and DOS said "waiting for GZ to schedule the interview" based on previous peoples timelines the interview date is known before the P4 letter and its about 55 days after the namecheck is completed. my 134 form questions are these: 1. line 3, it ask you the name of the avidavit is on behalf of: of course my fiance, now heres my question it ask's "presently resides at" now is that asking the address she will live when she is here or her address in china?? not enough room to put her address in china 2.line 1, sections a,b,c and d , what do i put for my citizenship? i was born in germany at a U.S. army base both parents are Americans, i am US citizen also. 3.line 8, persons depending on me "wholly" or "partially" i have 2 kids from previous marriage and i pay child support, do i need to put that there? 4. line 10, it asks you "that i have submitted visa petitions to the CIS on behalf of the floowing person(s) questions i submitted a petition for a K1 visa to bring my fiance here , is this what they are asking? for my fiance's name? confused Mike

my girl has a cooler head tyhan i do, i was going to argue with GZ she said it would get us no where so she went ahead and downloaded the forms and she will send them again in about 4 hours from now, this time i asked her to send with some time of confirmation and also email GZ leting them know she is resendiong them along with a tracking number for proof. mike

my girl got her p3 on the 28th of april,we both sent ALL the completed forms back to GZ on the 29th along with her new address. well my girl calls me today monday may 16 and tells me she just got a letter from GZ that "they are unable to schedule an interview date because they did not receive the 230 and 167 forms",well..... i know they DID!!! i was with her when we sent them back to GZ,and if they are saying they didnt get them then where are they???and how can they send her this letter if they didnt get her p3??? this is the only way they can send her this letter because its her new address and the only way for them to know this is they got her p3? so should she download these forms and send them again or ask them to look harder??? mike

my girl sent the P3 back to GZ but on the P3 169 checklist she checked every item!! like court documents,military records etc etc, stuff she doesnt have because it doesnt pertain to her, but DOS said fax the i v chief and tell him this error, is this a big deal to worry about?? mike

James Dont worry yet, my girl got her P3 on the 28th of April (they day i flew to see her) and when i arrived on saturday (due to a plane cancelation on friday) my girl said she sent it back overnight on friday and she tracked it and the tracking number shows it was delivered on the 29th,but i called DOS on May 9th and they told me GZ has not received it yet, since i was just in China and GZ area they just got off the MAy holiday and i went to see the GX office just to see it and it was not open. so dont worry, i called the DOS on a friday which would have been GZ's time friday evening and the DOS said they not get our package from the NVC,but on a monday when i called back they told me the p3 was sent on friday, so i think it takes a couple of days to show up in the DOS system also, all i can say is be patient because good things come to those who wait. mike

well.......i just got back to Virginia today from spending 9 days with my girl! we stayed in Dan Shui (she works in Shenzhen) and on saturday we stayed in GZ, i seen the GZ visa office, it was closed for the day. i just got back from 22 hours traveling. she got her P3 on April 28th and sent it back the same day and was delivered on April 29th, so soon I will call DOS for an interview date. here is something i cant figure out............ when the petitioner sends the 129F form in with all the evidence and you get the NOA2 that means your petition has been approved and they looked at all the evidence right??? so why denials at the interview if you have already submitted the evidence 9 months earlier and then more at the interview? if your approved at the beginning why are they turning the SO's down at the end?? this bothers me and as a US citizen if the VO didnt give me a bonafide reason for denial then its time to get many people to stage a protest at Capital hill or the door steps of the DOS building! this will bring the media into it. also whats the percentage of blue slips given out to people verses white slips?

I am not being sarcastic but before getting involved with a Fiance overseas people should look at aprox how long it takes to get a fiance to the USA, CR1's take the longest, K3's take 10-12 months SO DONT GET MARRIED IN CHINA!!, wait the 7-9 months on a K1 visa. K1 is much faster than a K3 or CR1's just my 2 cents worth.

I work in D.C. how or what can I do to make someone at the Capital know about the issues at GZ? any suggestions? I make a personal visit, just tell me what to do mike

ok............here it goes and if anyone knows this answer please reply. the I-134 form requires recent year tax return correct?? that means opnly send my fiance 1 year return or last 3 years? second question, I make over 35K a year now,and i have a co-sponsor with over 100k a year income to fill out a I134 but I DID NOT meet the income requirements over the last 3 year returns,will they still allow her the K1 even though i did not earn enough the last 3 years but i now meet the requirement and i have a co-sponsor. Ok heres how you can basically narrow down your DHL tracking number from the rest and track your package. if you still have the receipt from when you sent your original petition to either your lawyer or the procesing center it should have the weight on it, with you knowing how much your packaged weighed in the beginning then pretty much count on the package weighing the same all the way to GZ, like in my case NVC told me my package was sent on March 11th 2005, i know my package weighed 1.74lbs and NVC told me there were 2 packages sent to GZ on march 11th one billed at 2lbs one billed at 3lbs so mine would be the one billed at 2lbs because mine was more than 1lbs but less than 2lbs. mine arrived in GZ on the 14TH i called the Customs center it will pass through customs within 2 days of delivery and a dhl courier will deliver to GZ, now i was told that if a package is more than 2bls it will take up to 6 weeks to clear and delivered to GZ, and anything less than 2lbs get cleared first and within 2-3 days time, but people in this forum believe multiple petitions are mailed together NOT TRUE!! each persons case is mailed in its own DHL package containing 1 petition! this was confirmed by NVC and GZ what takes to clear so long is some people go WAY overboard on what evidence they sent, someone sent over 200 photos and it took them 3 months to clear customs because the workers at the customs office didnt want to fool with a package so heavy right away but they dont know whats inside until after they open them.

how to check the status of every movement of the case? i see "per DOS" and "email from GZ" how do i get this DOS info and emails from GZ? mike
