Hi Jason+Joanna, Well this is pretty exciting that we are in the P4 queue. I contacted GUZ and they said they had received our documents and that we are in processing now. Whatever that means ... I guess now we wait for the 100 days or so before the P4 spits out. Anyone able to add if that is the correct amount of time we are waiting for ... that would be nice to be there when the P4 packet arrives while I am in Shanghai.

MeiandMark, Lots of luck but from what I understand, your petition could take up to a month for GUZ to receive. For some reason, we (China K1) are subjected to NVC enhanced review so that our petitions actually stay at NVC longer than other K1 petitioners. Your SO should receive the P3 packet soon if it did indeed ship in March. Also another thing I discovered was that even though I called DOS, they had no record of GUZ receiving the petition. However within 2 days, the P3 arrived at my SO home.

Jason: Well you and I are on the same track as we too sent the P3 back on 4/8. I have not verified whether they have received it yet but my SO sent it by EMS from Shanghai so I expect it would be there by 4/11 the latest. Did you call the DOS to see if they received it or did you just email GUZ?

So I was just wondering has anyone who received NVC case number around 2/23 and was shipped from NVC to GUZ in the first 2 weeks of March received their P3 yet? I was hoping that we would get our P3 in mid April but who knows. It seems that people who got NVC approval around mid February already have their P3 sent to their SO's. Oh to see when your case was assigned a case number you just look at your case number and after 2005 there is a 3 digit code beginning with 500. Mine was 553 so it was the 53rd day of the year which was February 23. Thanks to anyone who responds. I am trying to time it and my SO travels a lot so I am hoping that while she is home she will recieve the P3 or at least try to get her to be home around that time.

Do you know how many days worth of packets from the NVC are there? I am wondering as my package was supposedly delivered from NVC to GUZ on 3/7. I am hoping that my package has also cleared customs too.

No I am not going to marry ... we just want to have a ceremony that we can invite family and friends to celebrate. We will do the legal marriage after she arrives here in the states.

Hi Jason+Joanna Yeah I figured it would be around April to receive the P3 but I had read that GUZ had picked up the petitions on 3/24 so I was hoping that within the next week the P3 for us would be sent to our fiancees. We are hoping that things will move along as we are planning a ceremony for Nov in Shanghai. Thanks for the input from everyone.

Hi nygatl15 Just trying to figure out where in this K1 process I am so wondering in your case when did NVC mail your petition to GUZ. I am hoping that mine is coming right behind yours as I was told by NVC that my petition had been mailed on 3/7 and was hoping that my petition had finally cleared customs. I called DOS and know that according to the person they have not received my file.

I have heard many different stories as to how our packages are delivered to the Consulate in Guangzhou. Now I am wondering whats the story ... how do we find out if our packages have arrived and when we can estimate when the P3 packet will be sent to our SO. As I understand, if you find out what day your packet was mailed from NVC, you can then call DHL to get a list of all the packages from NVC to Guangzhou that day. Then you input the tracking numbers and see what has been delivered. However some people say that the petitions are sent in a box with many other things and can take a month to clear customs. Whats the real story ... who knows ... but any information is better than no information. Well thats good news to know that the small packages are delivered right away. I believe my whole petition was less than 1 pound as I printed 4 pages of pics on photo paper. My petition was pretty small as everything I sent was a copy with nothing bulky getting mailed to CSC. Inxsfan hope your right about the petitions as that would make my wait a little bit shorter ... hopefully. Only thing to do ... keep right on waiting.

Basically you call the NVC and ask what day they sent your file. Then you call DHL and tell the NVC zip and the Consulate zip and they will tell you how many packages shipped that day. Then you can get the tracking numbers for all the packages and track them on the DHL web site. From what I was told, there were only 3 packages shipped from NVC to the Consulate the day my package was shipped. So I just popped those 3 tracking numbers and wallaa .... I get to see when the items were delivered. But from some of the comments I have gotten, it may not be quite true when they say the item has been delivered by courier ... so thats the question .... where is my package and when will they mail the P3 ??

Well apparently things are moving a little faster nowadays ... my package was supposedly sent on 3/7 ... I called DHL ... supposedly cleared customs and delivered on 3/15 at 9:28 am. Hope that all the information I have gathered is true ...

Well I hope for number 4 ... but like you said any of the 4 could be happening. Although number 2 would not be one as I do show a clearance delay from 3/10 until 3/14 clearance processing complete. As for number 1, possible but I did confirm with NVC they did ship on 3/7. Of the three packages they are all US DIPLOMATIC PAPERS - CORRESPONDENCE, I-730, and EXP 04MAR 2005A. Only the last one shows a weight of 3 ... I am thinking 3 pounds but not sure. Guess I am hoping, crossing my fingers, and everything .. my fiancee will be out of town by the end of the month so the sooner the P3 gets to her the better.

So when a package says delivered ... its not really delivered? According to DHL, it went with delivery courier?? Anyone who shipped from NVC to Guangzhou on 3/7 ... our packages have been delivered 3/15 at 9:28am. Only 3 packages left NVC that day .. how do we figure out is our packages are one of the ones? Also I am kind of shocked ... I thought there was usually a 6 week waiting period for the clearance delay??? Anyone who can provide any insight ... greatly appreciated. Dang your case moved right along ... It seems to be that things are moving along a lot faster in 2005. I know that VSC was always quick with their NOA2 approvals. How did you know that NVC had sent off your petition to GUZ ... just wondering if I should give NVC a ring and see if my package is on its way also.

Just wondering if anyone who received NOA2 approval in 2005 has already received their P3 packet? Also post your timeline from the time NVC assigned case number until delivery to Consulate and then P3 destination and arrival date. Curious minds want to know ....

Anyone know how long it takes to go from getting a GUZ case number until the consulate sends out the P3. All the cases I have seen recently are people who received their P3 in Oct or Nov so I wanted to see if we had any recently approved people who are waiting for NVC or the consulate to move onto the next step. I got approved by USCIS 2/15 and NVC assigned case number 2/23. However I understand we (people petitioning through China) have to wait longer than other people for the interview. Maybe we can start a posting of people who are waiting for their interview who got approved in 2005? I know that all opinions are estimates as we do not know the mysterious ways things are processed but a guess will be better than nothing. Does the NVC hold to their 1 week philospophy for K1 visas as suggested by the Udall observations and notes? Thanks for the answers and opinions.

I called the NVC today and they verified my file had reached them and they were sending it out. She told me that the consulate should receive the package in 2-4 weeks. However when she went to verify my fiancee's info, the DOB was incorrect. She told me that it would be ok since my fiancee would have to provide a birth certificate during the interview. Anybody have any opinions on this situation?
