  1. Thanks all! Looks like many people are getting interviewed in December. Let's bring 'em home, boys!
  2. December 17, 2008... Three days before my birthday, eight days before Christmas... Here's to a Happy Holiday! (hopefully ) Also, if anybody has an interview on that day, let me know!
  3. This is just crazy. Any clue at all for the reason behind this?
  4. Congrats on everything! I was wondering, what did you prepare for the CCP issue? I noticed that there was no evidence of your SO quitting. What CCP evidence did you have?
  5. Thanks for the info! You and Bob have really helped me know what to expect with the CCP issue!
  6. Hey nabeshin, I would think that the VO would still consider your fiancee a member if her dues are paid through the end of the year even though she made the payment last May. You can find a copy of the Chinese law regarding membership from my past thread on CCP membership here: http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=31912 I know you're aware of it, I put the link for other's who may be interested but not aware. You'll find a Chinese version and an English version of the Chinese law which states that a person is automatically no longer a member after six months of non-dues payment. My sweet Haiqing made her last payment in December 2007 for that month and no other payments after that so by the end of June 2008 she was legally, by Chinese law, no longer a CCP member and could honestly answer "no" to the question "are you a CCP member?". I don't know if you caught it but I did reply to your question about CCP in my thread about our interview results. I also included a copy of the cover letter I wrote showing all the evidence we had prepared for the interview proving non-membership. You can find it here: http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=33010 Find whatever evidence you can to prove to the VO that she is not a member if the questions comes up at her interview and she wants to answer "no". 100% honesty is the key ingredient here because you'll have to address the CCP issue later once she's in the U.S. with you during her AOS and if they suspect that she lied to get her visa they could deport her even though you're married and even if she has received her green card. If you're in doubt about how to answer perhaps it would be best to play it safe, accept the blue slip and the slight delay and sleep at night knowing you did things honestly. Then again, the question may never come up ... it does happen Enjoy your weekend! Bob Thanks for all the info! It's really helped. I'm hoping we'll get past this hurdle with no problems.
  7. Congrats on that! I'd also like some details as I must tackle the CCP issue. I have a question for anyone who might be able to answer. My fiancee last paid her CCP dues in May of this year. She has no plans to ever pay again, but she was told that the May payment covered her dues for the rest of this year. Our interview will most likely be in December, 7 months after May. Do you think she can answer "no" if asked whether she is a member or not? Many thanks!
  8. Hey good luck! I'm really hoping for PINK since we both have to deal with the CCP issue.
  9. That's awesome! By the way, does it still say that it's delayed on the DHL website?
  10. My wife was in her past, a Sargent in the PLA, and also worked in the Post Office for 9 years, both were listed on all forms where they asked about military, as well as jobs. Nothing was asked about them. That's also encouraging. I'm starting to think that I'm probably worrying too much about this. She's only been a member for about 4 years and was only for school and employment. I'm just hoping we can avoid the blue slip!
  11. Hey all! I've got a fresh question. Does anybody have a copy of the statement that they made explaining their membership? It would be nice to have an example to look at.
  12. That would be a blessing we would love to have! On another note: The CCP approached my sweet fianc¨¦e Haiqing today requesting she pay her last six months of dues ... damn, no more flying under the radar! She told them she was busy and would get back to them later and sent me an email in a panic asking what she should do. I told her do not pay the dues because it will change how we deal with answers on all the forms and at her interview. I told her to lie to them and give them any excuse she could think of and was comfortable with, like she doesn't have the money now because she needs the money for her son's tuition or she is having to help her mom and dad by sending them money or tell them a family member is ill and she is helping them or even tell them she put her money in the stock market and lost a lot of money and she can't afford to pay it until the first of the year. Anything to hold them at bay until I can get her out of there! I just hope this doesn't turn into a situation were we end up feeling like we're dealing with a "legalized mafia"! Keep your fingers crossed for us please. Best to all, Bob Damn. Bad timing. Hopefully nothing will happen until the interview. My fiancee stopped paying only a couple months ago, so we're hoping that the six month time limit will pass before the interview. It is almost impossible for her to quit.
  13. I was also wondering about those whose fiancee or spouse straight up quit the party without waiting for the six months. Was it an easy process? What were the reprecussions? My fiancee has told me how difficult it is to just walk in and say "I quit". She says that the party would make things very difficult for her and/or her family in the future. For example, they would prevent her from getting some jobs in the future if we decided to move back to China. Any idea if this kind of stuff is true?
  14. By the way, did she translate this herself or find it somewhere?
  15. Try to educate the person who has lost the will? That's kinda scary. My fiancee has told me about the consequences of quitting and now I can see what she means! She was "strongly persuaded" to join during college a few years ago because of her high marks. I hope that falls under involuntary membership.
  16. Wow! Great info! This will definitely be helpful! Thanks!
  17. I look forward to seeing what you're compiling. I've been wondering about what evidence to gather myself.
  18. I've looked at the timelines for 2006 and 2007. Average time between NOA2 and the interview seemed to be about 5 or 6 months. But I look at some recent timelines and some people seem to be only taking about 3 or 4 months! For those who received the NOA2 this year, when was your interview or when is your interview scheduled? Thanks!
  19. Hey Bob! I've been reading more and more about this issue. I don't think we have to worry about the DS-157. They will find out anyways from GNI-2. I don't think the CCP is a social organization because question 7 on GNI-2 states "social" and "political" as separate things. "List all organizations or political parties you are now or have been a member of or affiliated with since your sixteenth birthday. Include professional, vocational, social, and political organizations." I think that answers the question of the "gray area". But we still must answer this question...
  20. I'm currently a teacher at a university and part time at an English school for children. It was incredibly easy to get the job and it's still easy to find work if I have the extra time. Having a Bachelor's Degree helped, but being a white American helped the most (sad but true). Altogether, I make 14,000+ RMB per month. That is very good considering I'm not in one of the huge cities like Beijing and Shanghai (I'm in Taiyuan, Shanxi). I get to be with my fiancee and live a good life while we wait! Glad to answer any questions you have!
  21. I read your topic. It really does seem to be in a gray area on the DS-157. If it isn't a social organization and she quits before the interview, then it would seem that there is no problem. Does anybody know if USCONGUZ has said whether or not CCP membership is considered a social organization?
  22. I've been reading a lot about this issue (thanks for the links!) and it seems that it won't be much of a problem. My fiancee is only 23 years old and she joined during college for the benefits. Of course we'll prepare everything we can in case it comes up.
  23. Just noticed that the topic title is cut off. It should read "a member of the CCP".
  24. I'm just curious how many people who applied for the fiancee visa were asked this question and what the outcome was. Thanks for your input!
