  1. i am not sure if this has been suggested here before, so please forgive me if my suggestions are out of place. i am a positive person, and also know that positive feedback helps to motivate people better than negative feedback. i'm curious for those who have already been through GuangZhou and survived the visa process of two things: - after you survived the process, and now with your loved ones here, have you written to the consulate in GuangZhou to decribe your ordeal, (if it was positive or negative)? - and second, if you have not considered this, would it be something you might consider doing for us who are waiting ... maybe if they received some positive feedback, it might help them stay focused on their jobs and getting things done properly. and also include in your letter that there are many who are waiting a long time, and that you hope they will be able to organize their operations and streamline this whole process. and of course if you've had a negative experience, then i would think following up with details of what went wrong, and maybe suggestions of how to do it better would be well received. the worse that can happen is that the letter gets tossed and never read. the best is that someone reads a kind letter about their works and takes some pride in trying to get things done properly. just a thought, a suggestion, maybe it will help make it easier for those that come after you. thanks ping and me
  2. i read this story, and wonder, isn't there some person or place where this sort of behavior can be reported? chuck and shu ping wait for endless months, finish the interview and get a white slip. then on the following day its changed to a blue slip? how can the VO change her mind after completing the white slip that now maybe she wants to see something else? at the time she wrote the white slip either: - that is what she intended and it should not be changed. period. - she was high or drunk and did not remember things clearly. after getting sober she realized she wanted to see something else. - she just plainly was not doing her job and someone else noticed and said to change it to a blue slip. do we have the right to sue a particular VO we get for the interivew? or sue a guangzhou consulate? if it were a private company, and because of their mismanagement, their misconduct, or miscalculation we would have some recourse. we wait months/years, with untold expenses (travel, documentation, etc) only to find that because of their mistakes, things take even longer or cost more. i'm still months aways from the interivew time, but i will certainly tell my fiancee to try to get the VO's name. if the interview goes well, i will write him or her a nice letter thanking them for doing their job in a professional and kind manner. if we get raked like this, i will be sure to write a letter to them and their supervisor letting them know it is a disgrace to their consulate operations and a disgrace to the US and its citizens. i hope things get resolved quickly and you and your wife are out of there! - ping and me
  3. thanks, i'll try to sit tight .... they probably aren't working today because of the holiday, but i'll still check their website every now and then just in case ... - ping and me
  4. it been over 2 days now since i've received my NOA1 from Vermont. others on this site, who received their NOA1 after me, have already started to get their NOA2, so now i am preparing myself that i may have been RFE'ed! can someone tell me, if this happens, does the status on the USCIS website https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/login.jsp change to show the information about the RFE, or do i have to wait until i get something in the mail. our NOA1 was on Jan 26, and it was last touched on Jan 31. so now i'm wondering if the "Touch" date someone found something missing, and we're now just waiting to recieve the RFE notice. i am also worried they may have forgotten to send out the RFE, so we're just waiting around for nothing now. any comments on what i can expect to see if there is an RFE? and will the website show any changes? thanks ping and me
  5. yes we're using John Roth. i'm not very good with paper work, and i didn't want to waste any time and hope i got it right, so i found him and he seemed to have a good site and service. - ping and me
  6. i thought the VSC would be faster, and i've been tracking my petition along with others from my lawyers website. from his site i can view the waiting times for others at the VSC and also other at guangzhou. so far we are one of the longer ones at the VSC, but they seem to go in cycles or spurts.. so just waiting for now. next week i hope we'll see something, or i'll see about contacting them. thanks. ping and me
  7. thanks everyone ... for the support and humor. that is one thing i have liked about this site/forum. i know it will be a long wait, i knew before i started. i have also braced my fiancee for the long wait, so i think we are prepared ... but still hope for the best. to make it easier i have told her i will come to see her every 3-4 months. i was last there for christmas/new years, and will go again on March 24th. i sure hope we are past vermont at that time ... thanks all ping & me
  8. i've been a reader of this site for a while, and finally thought i would introduce myself here. my fiancee and i have recently sent our petition for K1, and are currently waiting for NOA2 from vermont. so far its been 23 days ... counting each day ... each hour it seems. trying to keep my sanity, even though this is only the first step, of what will be a long journey ... i love the stories here, and the support. this site is great! - ping & me
