  1. Thanks for the info. Figures, she has to file I-751 Petition between 9 August 2007 and 9 Novemeber 2007 . Right after the rates go up. Any chance to mail the petition on July 31st with the old rates? Thanks
  2. My wife Mei must file the I-751 Petition to remove conditions on her Green card in a few months. The application states that she must also submit fees to get the Biometric services, fingerprints etc. down at the same time. My question: She already had the Biometrics stuff done for her conditional card since they had started doing it at that time. Must she file and do Biometrics again? Thanks in advance Walyette
  3. They will keep one copy on the first use. After that, provide photocopies of the one you have left. 159084[/snapback] In this case, at the POE of Chicago, they didn't take any copies at all. Just stamped it. The officer said "oh, she doesn't have agreen card yet?" My wife doesn't speak English ao I said " Well you know, Dallas is slow. He stamped everything and that was it. We weren't called to secondary inspection or anything. W
  4. Tony Thanks so much for the careful answer. My wife's I-94, passport and advance parole letter are all stamped "Paroled until 9/12/06" Even though the original AP letter states"Valid until February 16th 2006" Does this mean she can continue to go in and out of the USA until 9/12/06 if her AOS has not yet been processed? Does the I-94 stay in her passport if she leaves the country? Can she still return if she is out of the country after February 16th 2006? Thanks in Advance for your help W
  5. My wive returned to the USA using AP in September 05. The AP was first received by her in Feb 05. The AOS processing seems to be very slow. So we are wondering will the AP expire? Her passport is stamped and says PAROLED UNTIL Sept 06. Will the AP expire in Feb 06, SEPT 06 or when?
  6. My wife has and appointment for fingerprints April 20th in Dallas. But she has returned to China (with Advance Parole) and won't be here for a few months. Has anyone faced this issue? Can the appointment be rescheduled?
  7. You don't need to do anything. Just show your passport and visa if anyone asks , but don't offer it. The days of reporting to the police are long over. If you live in China a long time you might want a resident card. If you overstay your visa you will be fined upon leaving the country. Just go to Hong Kong and get a new visa if you need to. Make sure that the address on your fiancee's visa application and the address on her ID and passport are all the same, her old hometown. Otherwise you have to get police reports.
  8. We did this with just a reservation in December. But the e-reservation printout "looked" like a ticket not a reservation. Usually, you can get a printout that looks really good and has her name and flight numbers and such.
  9. My wife is a recent K-1. We are in the Dallas TX area and the civil surgeons I have called (both of them) all seem to want to do a complete new I-693. They said the cost would be $50-75 plus vaccinations. They don't seem to understand she already had this done in China for the K-1. I guess she still needs followup to one or two vaccinations she had in China. What is the suppliment I-693 ? Is it a different form? How do I explain this to the civil surgeon? Any specific recommendations in the greater Dallas area? Thanks in advance!
  10. My wife is thinking about work here in the states. But she speaks almost no English. We don't really need the money but she would like to try to find something to keep busy while I work. Any ideas? All I could think about was a Chinese restaurant. What else?
  11. Back from Vegas....Boy was that weird. Mei doesn't speak English so I had to translate everything. It was a great time though! Anyway to answer your questions. The Texas ID is good for 5 Years. It has no restrictions. It was the ONLY ID she showed for traveling to Vegas and back. We even got pulled aside for the random strict security search. No problems it worked GREAT....And her Social Security Number had arrived by mail while we were gone. Total time for SSN was about three weeks. She applied before we were married even though it meant a delay because she wasn't in the system.
  12. Just a follow up. Got Mei's Texas ID in the mail yesterday. Looks exactly like a Texas DL It took about 2 weeks. It even has her signature IN CHINESE CHARACTERS! All we used was her passport and valid K-1 I-94 Timing is great since we are going to Vegas tomorrow on our honeymoon. Some things do work out.......Now where is her SS Card?
  13. You can still get a visa in Hong Kong. But you can only get one during business hours so plan on one night in Hong Kong and don't arrive on the weekend. Give the travel agent your passport at 9am the next morning and you can have a visa by 2pm.
  14. Just applied for one in Plano at the DL section. It was $15 and all my fiancee needed was her foreign passport w/ unexpired I-94. Should receive it anyday.
  15. I guess I should have been more precise. We are in Guangdong now and we will travel together by by land to Hong Kong to catch a flight to the States. So she won't be "in transit" in the sense of not officially entering Hong Kong. Probably go to Hong Kong the night before a morning flight. Sounds like no problem. Thanks
  16. Sorry this has been asked before but I couldn't find it. Can my Chinese fiancee travel through Hong Kong to catch a flight to go to the USA on only her American fiancee visa? She has nevr been to Hong Kong before and is from Sichaun province Thanks
