  1. I must be especially dense! I am probably making heavy weather of this! But question #8 #9 #10 (I-134) have me confused. 8. That the following persons are dependent upon me for support: Name of Person Wholly Dependent Partially Dependent Age Relationship to Me. DO THEY MEAN MY WIFE AND STEPDAUGHTER? SEEMS REDUNDANT. Or do they mean other people not on the Affidavit? 9. That I have previously submitted affidavit(s) of support for the following person(s). If none, state "None.'' I ASSUME - NONE. 10. That I have submitted visa petition(s) to the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) on behalf of the following person(s). If none, state none. Name Relationship Date Submitted DO THEY MEAN MY WIFE AND STEPDAUGHTER? SEEMS REDUNDANT 11. I assume I write, " As a husband and stepfather I will support my family forever." RUP
  2. I will try the DHL system myself. But you guys have done my work for me. Patience, is the name of this game! I am lucky the Song is patient and optimistic! Rup
  3. I have my GUV number and know the date NVC sent our I-129F Nov 16th 2004 . However, I do not have a clue how to work the DHL web site! Also, I e-mailed Guangzhou last night and got an immediate response. They have not received my I-129F form from NVC. I want to thank everyone who helps people like me. I had no problem with filing the first round of forms with Texas and Chicago BUT the Guangzhou phase has got me a little rattled. I have this feeling that things aren't "right" there! Rup
  4. Thank you for your help. I will act on this. Rup
  5. How do people find out if Guangzhou has received the approved 129F form from NVC and if they have sent out package #3? I notice that many people have specific dates! Thank you for all your help. Rup
  6. Thanks for the "on target" reply! Is there a way to get the NVC to slow down sending the I-130 approval to Guangzhou? Or, is there a way to get Guangzhou to send packet #3 to my wife more quickly. They received the I-129 F, from NVC, some time after November 16th. Rup
  7. Our K-3 has been approved and is now in Guangzhou. Our I -130 is approved and is at NVC. It will not arrive in Guangzhou for about two months. We do not want to go the I -130 route because it will exclude our stepdaughter who was over 18 when we married. We want to go the K-3 route because the K-4 option is allowed. If the I-130 arrives in Guangzhou do we have to go that route. Do we have a choice? Does anyone have ideas? Rup
  8. Does anyone know of a website or source for Packet 3 and 4 for K-3/4 visa. I would like to know what I have to contend with! Rup
  9. Thank you for your reply. Your analysis confirms mine. I need an experienced attorney. Any suggestions? Rupert
  10. I have posted questions about my 19 year old stepdaughter visa problems at "Candle for Love", Asian-American Couples group, K-3 filers group, as well as Visaourney.com. I have had no response from anyone who ha had first hand experience with this problem. My wife's approved I 129F form has passed through NVC and is now in Guangzhou and her I-130 is at the NVC. I have been lucky filing the paperwork - so far. However, I obviously need an attorney who is very familiar with K3/4 Visas. Does anyone have any recommendations. I want to find an attorney who does not have to "research" the topic. I would like to find an attorney who knows the subject and can provide solutions or advice. Thanks for helping us. Rupert
  11. Has anyone faced the difficulty of having a stepchild who was over 18 but under the age of 21 when they married? s Rupert
  12. Thanks for the replies: The problem for us is that my stepdaughter was over 18 when we married. This meant that she is not viewed as my stepdaughter for immigration purposes and cannot get an i-130 thru me. However, she can come to the USA on a K-4 visa as a dependent of her mother's K-3. This K-3 expires on her 21st birthday. Is there any way through this problem? Rupert
  13. I am new to the site. My wife is a Nanning woman (Song) and we were married last year Dec 23rd. As a teacher I have been lucky because I have visited my wife frequently. I will be going back on December 19th. My I-129 F has been approved and was sent to Guangzhou last week. Good. My I-130 has alsobeen approved and is now at NVC. Maybe good It is a few weeks behind BUT, my step-daughter was over the age of 18 when I married her mother. Not Good. Apparently she can get a K-4 from her mother's K-3 BUT is, as you all know, unable to receive sponsorship (I-130) from me. This means my step-daughter can come to the USA until she turns 21. As I read the rules, she then must leave the USA. I have done all the paperwork myself. So far no problems. Fairly easy. But it is getting rather tricky. I am worried that the Guangzhou Consulate will process my wife as an immigrant not a K-3. My step-daughter could be cut-out. As I understand it her K-4 is dependent on her mother's k-3. ANY IDEAS? POSSIBLY I NEED A LAWYER WHO SPECIALIZES IN K-3 VISAS. RECOMMENDATIONS
