  1. My interpretation of household register..is that they want her family household register to show she was born to and lived with her parents. For example, my Hu Yi will provide a copy of her father/mother's household register which list Yi's name as part of that household. It is just more proof that she is who she says she is.
  2. Congratulations...I wish I was...where you are! Anyway, does your wife read or speak English? If so there shouldn't be any problems just follow the signs for Immigration and Customs. All the papers she needs should be in her passport. There should be a visa page in there but she can bring her approval papers from the consulate just in case. I envy you!! Best of luck.
  3. My wife faxed them and they were pretty quick about it.
  4. Yes and with the price of fuel climbing like it is...it will go nowhere but up.
  5. Are you filing Direct with the Consulate in China?
  6. As far as the 129F is concerned ...you should write: K3 129F Fiancee Visa.................... I130 #13 asks if you relative has ever been to the US? This is your SO. I130 #14 asks if you replative is currently in US....if she is then she would have an Alien Registration number (A#). This is your SO. I130 #16 asks has your relative ever been under immigration proceedings? This also is about your SO. And finally, YES the G325A gets sent again...all 4 pages! With K3 129F written in the Other space.
  7. Congratulations...I just have one question..... Can I borrow your white slip?
  8. It should say what it is in the heading of the letter. It is normally a Notice Of Action..NOA1..saying yes, we have recieved your petition. The second letter you get should be a Notice Of Approval..NOA 2...unless they don't approve it.
  9. Saying prayers, crossing fingers, wishing on lucky star, rubbing red head (opps), throwing lucky coin in fountain...etc.........
  10. Hello all. I live in Missouri so I sent my I-130 to the Nebraska Service Center. I had not received the NOA 1 after 18 days so I was getting a little worried when it arrived in the mail! But, it is issued from the California Service Center! Is that correct? Is Nebraska not processing spouse visas now? I noticed on the immigration timeline from official website that Nebraska is processing I-130 filed in November of 2003!!! Did they stop processing them? Should I be concerned about California?
  11. I called and the real live answering service.....has a real live recording....that says Please wait up to 4 weeks for recipt confirmation! Like the 1-2 years after isn't enough waiting.
  12. Yes, I have return signature request delivery confirmation. They received it on the morning of March 28. Now 18 days waiting NOA 1 confirmation.
  13. Nebraska SVC and I sent a money order..how do I check on that?
  14. How long from the time I sent the I-130 should it take to receive the NOA 1. I want to file the I-129F asap. I sent the form and I know they received it on March 28. From what I read most people received an NOA 1 within a matter of days or couple weeks. Should I be concerned yet?
  15. You know as I read these posts about 'ugly" behavior I wonder...I know we sometimes feel we need to walk on eggshells with these immigration offcials because they pretty much have the power of God over our lives. But after reading this board and several others I feel sometimes we should stop and say 'Wait a minute. These are people that deserve at the very least to be treated with respect. What gives you the right to belittle and demean them? Maybe you need to go live where they came from for a couple years. I think your attitude will change." I am not sure..but I feel that we need to stop ignoring the problems with people and their God complexes in this country and start putting them in their place. WE ARE ALL PEOPLE. Yeah I know...how do we do that? Ask the man with the answers. (no not God I was thinking maybe Trigg.........)
  16. We have talked a little about this too. My wife's name is Hu Yi but she goes by Tina. So, I was a little surprised to find that Chinese wives keep their names (at least the ones I talked to did). So, when we married Hu Yi became....Hu Yi... But I would like if she would change to Tina Huyi Becker when she comes to the USA. She is considering this. As far as legality goes....in all LEGAL transactions she needs to use her LEGAL name. Especially with Immigration. If she chooses to LEGALLY change her name then...same goes with that. I wouldn't take a chance on Yi using Tina unless she makes it LEGAL.
  17. Hi everyone! I am a notary public for the State of Missouri. As has been stated, some states allow the use of an ink stamp instead of a seal. You can request the seal if you want. I have both. It is easier to stamp but on things I want to look very official I use both. If you feel uncomfortable with a stamp..as for the seal.
  18. I read somewhere....that a Chinese lady could apply for a Fiancee or Spouse visa through the Hong Kong Consulate and get quicker processing than in Guangzhou, China. Can anyone tell me more? Thanks.
  19. I am a notary in the state of Missouri. Rubber stamps are officially allowed instead of the paper seal crimper.
  20. Good fortune to you and Bing! If you prepare well then you have much less worry. That is what is so wonderful about all the people that post here. I have gotten many great ideas that I would not have thought of. You are among friends and we are all thinking positive thoughts for you. Sincerely, Keith & Yi.
  21. Thanks for the advice. I appreciate all the help I can get. --Keith.
  22. My Yi was married and divorced 10 years ago. She feels really bad that she did not listen to her parents back then. Now, she is waiting to tell them about our relations until after New Years. I get the impression that they treat her like a child that does not know what is good for her. I try to reassure her that she may be worrying for no reason. But she is very concerned. Now, her parents want her to come home to meet a foreign man that is a friend of her father's co-worker. She does not want to meet him. She tells me she is in love with me and wants to marry me. She wants to talk to them when she visits them on New Years. We have been corresponding since Feb 15. I have been to see her already and I am going back in a little more than a week. I guess I am just asking if there is anything more I can say to her? I have been reassuring her that even if they disagree with our relations that maybe we can go together and visit them. I just don't know what to do. I know that parents are very important in China...and I can assure you..she will not marry me if they say no. Any ideas? Suggestions? Length of rope?
