  2. There is a Chinese speaking translator at SeaTac Airport. That translator in fact speaks Korean, Japanese and some Cantonese other than Mandarin. If your wife's parents have any difficulties speaking with the officers, I am sure they will call that lady over to help.

  3. This may be a stupid question, but does a multi-page EOR letter count as a single document with a single notarized "signature/seal"? Should additional pages just be initialed?

I'd hate to end up paying $30 a page to have the thing notarized.

    From GUZ website:

    Fees:

    Notarials/Certified Copies:

    $30.00 for the first signature/seal

$20.00 for each additional signature/seal, if the documents are used for the same purpose

Only count as 1 page. Mine letter was 3 pages long and only pay as one doc.

  4. This is a little off-topic question regarding AOS... sorry Tom for borrowing your place here....

Seeing Tom and Ling gets their interview date is so exciting, since USCIS seems to be processing faster now then what they claim they are doing on their website. Beside the excitments, I am a little worry now. I think it is THIS FAST FOR MY HUSBAND TOO, then he might get a 2 yrs green card, instead of the 10 yrs kind. We originally thought the wait would be long, so we just went ahead and filed.

Anyways, my question is if he gets his 2 yrs one, then he would need to file remove the condition, right? So, he would have to go through another bio appt? or would they simiply send the 10 yrs one after they cash the check and process our application?

We were also thinking that if the interview date is fairly close to our 2 yrs anniversary, we will try to forget to bring all needed doc and hope for a RFE at the interview for a later date or if possibile just reschedule it. Any advices from anyone?

    Thanks,

  5. So sorry to hear what happened at POE for your SO. I hope this incident doesn't give her a wrong impression that this will be how she will be treated often in US. I am just so sorry.

My hus came thru Seattle as his POE last year. I came in with him taking the non-resident line. Things were okay here, but except officer never took his photo or fingerprint, so this casused us a small problem when we entered US again months after that as my hus has no record in the custom's computer data showing he was correctly admitted by the US officers.

My grandma (85 yrs old now) had always come in from HK thru Seattle. Experience here is usually friendly and fast (about 20mins). I think since my grandma is old and obviously knows no English, the officers never gave her hard time. We often pre-write a letter for her to hand to the officers explain duration of trip and address she will be staying at. Grandma never had to say a word to get pass the customr. Maybe someone here want to use Seattle next time?

  6. 1. When will they cash the check we sent with the package?

    2. When will the biometrics appointment be?

    3. When will the EAD card and AP documents arrive?

    4. When will the AOS interview be?

    1) Mine was a little more than a week.

    2) Mine was about 3-4 weeks after check cashed.

    3) I applied seperatly.

    4) Currently waiting for appointment as well. Tom & Ling just got interview letter, you can see their timeline for idea.

  7. Hi Missingyou,

Ling and the boys interview will be in Durham NC. Same place as the biometrics.

On the USCIS's site there were not updates or touches for AOS,,they are still as they were..so I don't think the interview was e-mailed or placed on web-site.

The web-site has said nothing about interview,,so they may not tell you either.

The interview is about 2 months from biometric.

The USCIS made a mistake on the boys EAC which I am going to have to call and correct. The cards have the boys as 7/25/1995,,but their birthday is 7/24/1995. I think the reason why is because biometrics were done on the 25th and they had 25th running through their brains.

    Tom and Ling

Thank you again, Tom & Ling for the information. I will look fwd to receiving something from USCIS soon too.

    Good luck!

  8. Tom and Ling,

This is quick turn around from USCIS, don't you think? Perhaps, they have quicken their process now. My hus got this Bio appt done on 7/7, maybe ours interview will be right after yours.

May I know if your case got updated on USCIS's website? If so, does it say that an interview sent to you? I have been checking the website everyday, but no change.

If you don't mind me asking you, may I ask which state will you be having your interview yet? I think if my hus needs interview, we will be doing so in NY.

Hope everythings go well for Ling at the interview.
