  1. Ouch is right! Congratulations on the first bigggggg hurdle. I am so sorry to hear it took so long. Don't even look at my time line or you'll get sick. I hope they hurry you along from this point on. Sounds like someone dropped the ball.
  2. Congratulations to all of you!!! Let the games begin.
  3. I always wonder, if the people making and/or selling the anti-virus and anti-spyware products, are the same ones making the viruses and other malicious things. I agree, what is the purpose in making them? Other than, "Because they can." By the way I need to buy a couple of these anti-spyware products. Anyone have any suggestions on the best products out there. Is it safe to download them from the internet. Or should I purchase them in the mail. I have two computers networked. Do I have to buy them for both computers. I assume I do.
  4. Congratulations! Good luck with the rest of the process. I will guess that your SO's P-4 interview will be in February. I noticed you were in Shanghai in January, 2004. I was in Shanghai in late January but I didn't see you there. Or maybe you don't look like your avatar.
  5. Maybe you can withdraw the entire petition and start a new one. But don't take my advice as the final word. I'm somewhat new to this process myself. But I wanted to throw this idea out to see what others might think.
  6. I scanned all my pictures into my computer. Then I used one of those photo abbum programs to print six pictures out on a page. The computer program allows you to put a caption under each picture. I listed the date and city and who was in each picture. I did this so they knew I met her parents and other family members. Then I put the 8 x 10 sheets of paper into a presentation binder with plastic transparent envelopes. There were 24 of these envelopes and I put two items in each page back to back. I also did it this way so there were no loose photos. I included a cover page as well as yellow sticky notes under the plastic to identify each item. The presentation binder opens like a book, and everything is easy to see, as well as safe and secured under the plastic. Good Luck
  7. Maybe we should enroll all our SO's into college and jump to the head of the line.
  8. Wish you great happiness together. I can't wait for my day to come!
  9. Ditto... In regards to your post Don, I think your post is very well written and well thought out. The challenges that two people must face, from two vastly different countries and cultures, must not be underestimated. It would be wise for all of us, to try not only to understand each other as individuals, but also try as much as possible, to understand each other's culture and customs.
  10. Has anyone had a faster timeline at VSC. It took me 5 days to receive my NOA-2 after receiving NOA-1. Vermont really is fast and I think I was on the express train. I found out about the approal last week, when I checked the USCIS website. But today NOA-2 arrived in the mail. I hope my good fortune holds out through the rest of the process.
  11. I will have to ask someone with a little more computer knowledge than I about printing the screen with the webcam on. I'm sure there is a way, but it is beyond my skill level. Is this a seperate software program? Anyone have additional suggestions?
  12. I was planning on asking the same question. Hai Yan and I communicate almost exclusively on Yahoo mesenger, because there are no additional costs once you have a web camera and are connected to the internet. But I have been unable to print out complete logs of archived messages with a date. The best I can do, is get a printout of a partial log with a time stamp. If you take Video of Yahoo messenger, maybe you can print the date on your camcorder, but at any rate this seems a cumbersome and questionable method of verifying communication. I submitted some of these partial logs with my I-129F along with some limited phone bills and lots of pictures. The I-129F was approved at USCIS, but I am concerned that the level of proof might be higher at Ghongzhou. Any other ideas about proving you have an ongoing relationship when you only use Yahoo messenger? What is the level of proof required? Personally I have lots of pictures since I spent 3 1/2 weeks in China. I am also planing another trip in October during the National Day holiday season. But what will be needed to satisfy Ghongzhou? This is a good question elcajongr!!!
