Well, as always, thank you for your replies everyone. I'm glad I am not the only one waiting for a long time, although I wish none of us had to. It has been nice to forget about uscis for some time, I will be happy when I don't ever have to think about them again when we finally go for citizenship!

So, I have been waiting patiently for our 10 year GC, BUT it hasn't come to an approval yet. We had our BIO appointment June 27,2011....we are coming into a 6 month wait with the Vermont Service Center. I know some have stated 4 months to 1 year wait, but reading some other posts, seems nobody has waited longer then 5 months..... Should I call them? Has anyone waited this long? Well if no answer, which I always appreciate from the regs on here....maybe at least this post will calm some others minds in wait time. We are STILL waiting, you are NOT alone!. LOL.

Thats exactly what i was talking about, I couldn't think of how to call them, 2 hole fasteners folders. Good to hear thats the way its still getting done B)

Thanks for your guys replies, much appreciated. I guess I'll be alright then leaving it in the folder. Its the first thing you"ll see when you open up the file folder. Just curious, did you guys do the file folder, which has the clamp thing to hold them down? I punched the holes in the paperwork to use this type of file folder. I can't recall the correct term to call the folder but it was once pinned on this site, when I originally sent in for our two year green card. Is this still the best way to send our stuff in, or have others just simply put things in a folder now. Because sorting that stuff out and punching all those damn holes in paper, photocopying, signing everything possible, making tabs to separate different types of paperwork, outline the entire file packet I put together....... toook forever today, lol. But it was nice to feel it complete and know my wife and I are gonna get our 10 year, and just keep living life happily. Just curious....

Ok, so I just finished up our I-751 Petition. Its all wrapped up in a nice folder, which is idiot proof with an outline of everything. The only question left in my mind is: Do I put the check in my folder or outside of it, in the mailing envelope, in it's own envelope? Right now I have it in its own letter envelope, inside of my petition folder, all idiot proof, with A#, names, amount, ect. I can't remember how I did it the first time when we got the two year green card. Any thoughts? And then thats it, off to the post office monday to ship it. Hope no interview like our two year wass!!

Hey Dnoblett, thanks for your answers, you always get to them : ). We waited this log for the permit test because we are lazy, simply put. My wife has never driven before, never had to in China, and she just doesn't care for it, so we have been lazy about going for the permit test. But now I'm on her case!, if she wants to have a baby, she needs to learn to drive, its important, especially living in Long Island. What if Im out of town?, and she gets hurt, or the baby is sick, so now she finally realizes, yes, driving is important, lol. Learners permit also makes a good state photo ID. Your right about that, we did get her an ID from the DMV, just not a permit.

Hello everyone!, It has been 2 years since I have written any questions here, and now the time has come to bother you again! : ) So, my beautiful wife and I are beginning to get our paperwork together for the I-751, which we are planning on mailing out end of April. My questions are: (By the way I looked at the pinned info, so this is follow up questions) 1) Since we are still young and trying to make a foot in this world, we still currently reside with my parents, NY is just to damn expensive, plus I finally landed a career job out from college, so things are looking up. We plan to get an apartment soon. So the question is, will evidence be suffice if I only have joint tax (which she had no income), joint bank account (which never gets over 1,000 because we were broke most of the time), about to apply for health insurance, pictures up the butt (family events, family weddings, vacations), and my mother and wife are about to register a internet based company under their names (which is an online handmade jewelry business that they have been working on, off the tax record, which i wish wasn't so), and hopefully soon get a new car with our names on it, which is in the works. Thats about it, so Im worried a little since we are still in that beginning process, I guess 2 years isn't that much when you started with nothing. 2) I know it wasn't listed but since my step father was our co-sponsor, should he fill out any forms and submit his taxes for this adjustment? Or maybe just submit 2010 tax and in his affidavit say he still wishes to support us until we are ready to buy a house or get an apartment? 3) And since Im on my question rampage, anyone know if your wife doesn't have a license yet, can you still put her name on a car title to show joint ownership? I plan to get her permit this month, but driving, well....that will take some time, lol. A real beginner on my hands. Thank you everyone as always for your time to read and answer these questions. John Sawtooth, The questions are not unfocused, but rather the entire situation. I'm sorry to give such a direct opinion, but I think marriage isn't your next step in the relationship. I know new love can be great, I know all about the e-mails, skype chats, and all kinds of other communications that can really make the new relationship exciting. BUT, you really need to give more visits to China and see if this girl/woman is really the right one for you. I took 2 visits, then lived there as an English teacher before filing. Then during filing visited a bunch more. Im not rich, but I made my way to get there. The point is, I'm not trying to compare you to me, but just giving an example of how many steps I took before choosing to marry. Im not old enough to give great yoda advice, but I think when you live with someone, the real relationship blossoms and the true colors come out. You can't go by your gut on these things, and using your heart isn't enough, you really have to be honest with yourself and ask, do I really want to marry this woman?. Do I really know her enough? Is it odd that I haven't met her ENTIRE family yet before talking of marriage. This is of course she is somewhat young, maybe your situation is "older" then my years, so maybe the last question about meeting her family doesn't imply. Anyway, sorry to go on a rant, I know nothing, just an opinion.

Thanks for your reply Stepbrow!. Your in Shanghai!, cool!. Hows it going over there?. Im about 2 hours away from Shanghai, not to sure if we will make our way there this trip. We are thinking of planning a trip to South of China. See some new cities. Thank you for the idea on teaching. I actually used to do it in Shanghai for 2 years with DDDragon. They have a bunch of branches throughout Shanghai. I had a school in Putuo district. I was actually gonna buy it and run it myself, but we did immigration instead. Yeah 25,000 is not much at all, lol. Good news is I have an interview when I get back with CNN, who might pay me 60,000 to start in their sales department. Well, see : /. But I would love to come back to China to teach again. Is that what you are doing?

Not much to offer on this post, but felt the need to express how much I hate flying. But once again, all worth the flight. I truly love China, and wish I had a full time job here. Maybe someday. Anway, Im back in good ol' Jingjiang, Jiangsu. I have to say, what money, blood, cheap labor, and hard work can do in a year. This city use to be a drag, in my opinion. But now it's a spinning image of People's square, or East/West Nanjing Road in Shanghai. The place just boomed with malls, restaurants, private roads for shopping with no cars. It's truly amazing. I really wish I had lots of money, experience, and started a business right now here. I would probably hit it big, but what can a 25 year old do, who only has his bachelors degree and less then 25,000 a year salary from some stupid marketing firm in New York City. Well...we will see, maybe I can change my stars.

NY is really easy for us, China Town and even closer, Flushing, have a lot of Asian markets. It feels like being in China when we go there, the way the markets are set up. But when we don't feel like driving to that area, if anyone is from Long Island, NY. H&Y is in Plainview, NY, it is a Korean market, but has all Asian brand names and the prices are so cheap. I can walk in and come out with 8 to 10 bags packed with all vegetables and fruit. If I go to Stop & Shop, I would come out with 4 bags for the same price. My wife really likes H&Y, they have most of the vegetables that you wouldn't find in an American supermarket, but they do lack in some Chinese products, mostly Soy Sauce and vinegar, but the Korean brands are very good as well in that area. The most important piece was finding all the great vegetables that we would eat in China, which H&Y has and feels 100% organic, straight from the farm. Although we still buy our meat, which is rare because we are borderline vegetarian, from Whole Foods. My wife and I don't eat snacks so I can't say if this market would have all those snacks that one could find in China, but they do have a great bakery next to it which makes some very warming treats that make you feel you walked into the bread store in Shanghai, haha. Our last piece of the puzzle is to find is a dumpling and noodle maker!, lol we both really miss walking into town and getting fresh made dumpling wraps and pulled noodles to cook with. Our next mission!, because making them ourselves is an all day event, and working half the day doesn't give us the time : (.

I would say go with the Passport name for your tickets because they are very annoying sometimes with that. We are visiting China soon and I booked the tickets with my wife's passport name because we are flying Korean Air. I flew Japan Air last visit and used our family name, this became a huge problem for the airlines and I had to get a stamp from the Chinese Embassy here in NY that says my wife goes by the name of....my last name. So even though its possible to use your married name, I still say use the passport for ease.

We did them as well. Doesn't hurt to have them, are they even used? I don't know but it's an easy thing to get done so might as well as have all corners covered. Best of luck.
