  1. It sounds like you are both in China. First of all, you can get him an L-relative visa if you are married. It's tricky about where you go to get it. You may have to go to your home province which is where you would have to go anyway to get married - you can do it all in one visit. However, there might be some complications with the Olympics, I know they have been making it difficult to switch visa types... Next, you can apply for a cr1 (DCF - direct consulate filing) after he has been in China for 6 consecutive months - I don't think it matters how long you have been married, although longer looks better. I hope this is the information you were looking for.
  2. He says he is going to check the EMS tomorrow morning. I'll let you know if I hear anything. He doesn't have a ponytail - he would be the really tall dark skinny guy carrying a University of Michigan bag and in my opinion very HOT.
  3. I posted this notice in the General Discussion area but I thought I would cross-post it here for anyone that has just finished with an interview and is in Beijing or anyone who has an upcoming interview and has questions. ------ There is going to be a CR-1 DCF meet-up this Sunday in Beijing. If you are in Beijing and have questions or experience to share, or just want to meet some fellow CR-1 filers - PLEASE COME! TIME: April 20th. Sun. 7:00pm PLACE: Sanlitun North Street, behind the 3.3 building, Friendship Youth Hostel bar. ʱ¼ä£º4ÔÂ20ÈÕ£¨ÐÇÆÚÈÕ£©Íí7µã µØµã£º±±¾©ÈýÀïÍͱ±½Ö3.3·þÊδóÏúóÃæµÄСÏï×ÓÄÚ50Ãס°ÓÑÒêÇàÄê¾Æµê¡±¾Æ°É£¬°×ǽ¾ÉÉî×Øľͷ˫¿ªÃźܺÃÕÒ£¬ÍÆÃÅ¿´¿´²ã¸ßºÜ¸ß£¬ÌØÏóµçÓ°ÀïµÄÀÏʽÎ÷²¿Âùݡ£Æ¡¾Æ15¿é2Æ¿£¬ËãÈýÀïÍÍ×î±ãÒ˵Ä

  5. He says there were more than 5 and he didn't talk to anyone about that. He must have gone before you.
  6. Congrats!!!! Sounds like you were at the end with my husband!
  7. I just heard from my husband that we did in fact get PINK! He said he had a 2 minute interview after waiting 5 hours. He said they asked for proof of relationship - emails and photos and then asked for proof that we had lived together here in China. Luckily we had a copy of our lease here in Beijing with both of our names on it. They did not ask for any sponsor information or financial information. Thanks for all of your help and support!!!
  8. Actually, our interview date is also the 16th. Rob, I think I sent you a PM with the wrong date. The 14th is when my husband is leaving for Guangzhou. :
  9. I heard people say both check them and don't check them. We did not check them and had no problems getting our P4.
  10. You should have the DS-230 "page 1 of 4" and "page 2 of 4" - one sheet - front and back. part two is another two-sided single sheet. We are working on getting things together right now... I'll be sure to post our results here after the interview!
  11. The DS-230 is in two parts. You fill out the first part now and you'll get the second part in the P4 to take to the medical exam. Good Luck!
  12. 1. When you get married in China you each get a certificate - they will probably only translate the certificate that belongs to the Chinese side - at least that is what they did for us. 2. I'm guessing that you are filing DCF. The USCIS office in Beijing sent me a checklist for the I-130 and there is nothing there about proof of marriage. We brought proof of marriage (photos etc.) but they didn't look at anything. We also brought our lease which has both our names on it to prove we had been living together and I had been living in Beijing.
  13. The instructions don't say anything about where... Under "FEES" it states: "Applicant should prepare to pay (in cash) the Immigrant Visa Processing Fee. The current fee is $400 per person, which includes a $45 surcharge. IV applicants who previously paid the IV application fee via National Visa Center will not be charged an additional application fee. Each person immigrating, regardless of age, requires a separate visa and must each pay this fee. If a person is found ineligible to receive a visa the processing fee cannot be refunded."
  14. We just received our appointment packet and it says that there is a $400 visa fee in there. Double check the info they sent you.
  15. We got a temporary from our local police station. The Beijing consulate said that 6 months in China and a temporary residence permit is enough, but I've heard other things elsewhere. I agree that you should call and ask.
