On the Gunagzhou web-site it states the following to bring for interviews:

 

Translations: Police certificates from other countries not in English, or in the official language of the country must be accompanied by certified English translations. Translations must be certified by a competent translator and sworn to before a notary public.

 

My wife had everything translated and certified in China for all the I-130 requirements and they were acceptable. My concern is were it say "sworn before a notary republic". Is the certified copy enough, I won't know where she can get it notarized in China. Anybody who has been through a CR1 interview, can you confirm what you did?

 

The second thing on their website says AOS is not needed if you submitted it to the NVC, but on the letter I got from the NVC stating my case was sent to GZ, it says to bring the AOS and supporting documents. I sent all the original stuff to the NVC, all I have is the copies. Will they(copies) be alright to use if I have them notarized in the states before I send them to my wife?

 

I am trying to put together my proof book for the interview, and I know whay papers are needed. These are the last 2 conerns I can't find an answer for.

What kind of notary letters do you need to do? I know you can do birth certificate and police reccord just in the city's Notary office. It's Gong Zhengchu. And I got mine there.

Yes, having them certified is enough. In China they have their documents certified at the local notary office. So by having them certified documents fills the requirement for "sworn to before a notary public". They get a little booklet which is translating stating it is from notary office of XXXXXXX.
