cosmiclobster Posted April 13, 2005 Report Share Posted April 13, 2005 After visiting the SSA office for the third time (and after having waited for 20 minutes at a pop on the phone on 3 diffeent occasions), I was informed by the nice lady that when your fiancee enters the country, she must (for some reason they could not explain to me) wait 10 days before applying for her social security card. Also, only the person who initiated your file can even look at your file. I have gone there twice only to find out that the lady who started our file was out that day. "Cant you just look up my SO's name and see what the status is"? NO! was their abrupt reply. The lady inferred that she would be punished or sanctioned if she inquired about another workers file! Am I halfway into the Twilight Zone and don't know it, or has this happened to anyone else? Just curious . . . . Link to comment
