it is quoted as saying there are 180,000 student visas issues each year to Chinese students. That is roughly about 15,000 student visas each month. (give or take some depending on the time of year, since most students will want to get here before the school year starts)

Is there any way to find out the number of K1/K3 visas issued each year? Where can we find that stat from China?

I can't imagine it is anywhere near 15,000/month.

The point being, for each month that a husband or wife, or son or daughter or fiancee of an american citizen has to wait for their K1/K3 visa, there are 15,000 other non-US Citizens, Chinese students and also business people who are getting their visas to the US.

A typical wait of 6 months means that 90,000 students will enter the US before our loved ones.

One area I think we include in the letter should deal with VO's that are either uncommonly rude to our loved ones or seem to make arbitrary decisions to deny the visa or delay it for no apparent reason.

One I would single out right now is the infamous 'BLACK PEARL.' Ying tells me she is well known and universally despised on 001 as the VO you don't want. She has the reputation of being rude not listening in interviews.

are these numbers per year? or per month?

my guess is this is per year 10,150/year, since if it were per month that would equal 121800/year, and i can't imagine Guangzhou alone handling all of this, given their current record.

If this is the numbers per year, and there are 180,000 student visas that a processed in a matter of weeks, it makes me wonder even more why they can't process this small number.

if these are the numbers per month, then i can see why the one consulate in Guangzhou can't handle it.

Thanks for the stat, i will try to find something more current.
