G-man
If anybody has any feedback or suggestions about the new airport in Guangzhou, I'd like to hear about your experiences. Thanx Link to comment
oregonknl
One of the great new airports of the world! Tips: Airport Express buses --- much cheaper than cabs... Don't forget to pick up some free bottled water from the basket mid section (just in front of the middle exit) REMEMBER ~! If you are catching an early flight out ---- DON'T BOTHER TO GET THERE EARLY!!! THE AIRPORT DOESN'T EVEN OPEN FOR BUSINESS UNTIL ABOUT 645 AM. Two Candle couples already have posted about this: Unfortunately, Fei and I are one of them.... Link to comment
nousername
i cannot say much... but i arrived on Dec 18th, and everything went so smoothly, no hitches or anthing.... so my only real advice is don't worry. I leave in a couple weeks so i don't know what it will be like checking in and all... you'll need to learn about that from others. Link to comment

leejcandle
When I arrived in September (China Southern from LAX), the walk from the arrival to the domestic departure gate was veeeeerrrry long. Link to comment
egolessvegan
Good exercise after a veeeerrrry long flight. You needed to stretch those legs out. It was a blessing. Link to comment
Jim - Portland, USA
One of the great new airports of the world! Tips: Airport Express buses --- much cheaper than cabs...Ditto on the airport express buses, a very quick, easy, and cheap way to get into the city center, especially to the train station, from which you can take a cab to wherever. This is a gorgeous airport, right up there with Incheon airport near Seoul, Korea. Link to comment

We flew in from Liuzhou the night before and decided to just layover at the airport thinking we could check in to our international flight three hours before (not in China). We had our luggage carts taken away from us at midnight (they were unlocked again at 5am), and we got hassled a couple of times by security because we didn't want to wait near the international gate. Otherwise, I do agree that it is a beautiful, state-of-the-art airport. Link to comment
yyp
What airlines fly from California to GZ? Link to comment
egolessvegan
Delta flies in partnership with China Southern Airlines from Los Angeles (LAX) direct to Guangzhou. Travel time is about 15 hours going and 13 hours returning.Ken Link to comment
MoonCarolCafe
What airlines fly from California to GZ?China Southern. Good in-flight service, decent in-flight movies with individual screens even back in cattle-class. And "Spot the Negro" is not valid when I'm on the plane, or on the day I arrive in GZ!!! egolessvegan
Just a little cramped by the lack of space from the seats in front of you. Good move if you can figure a way to have seats in the emergency row. Unlimited leg room.Ken Link to comment

It is on the outside where the seats go from 3 across to 2 across. A little extra lateral room for both seats and the leg room isn't as bad as a domestic. Link to comment
msmckee
About the express bus. Is there a bus that says Victory Hotel, or do they have specific limited stops and you find your way from there? Link to comment
