Chad&Tong
My fiance was divorced back in '97. We have her divorce papers and certified book of the divorce. Good to go on that. Does she also need a "single certificate" to establish her eligibility to marry? Thank you Chad and Tong Link to comment
Carl
As far as I know she only needs a single certificate to marry in China. For her visa she will need her divorce book translated into English along with a statement from the translator that they are fluent in both English and Chinese Link to comment
Chad&Tong
HeyWell, we've applied for the fiance visa so we want to marry in the US. For her interview, I am wondering if she needs both a 1) single certificate and 2) her divorce documents (already translated, certified and notarized). Is number 2 enough? Thanks Chad Link to comment

Thanks ChadJingwen's divorce document contained a statement to the effect that she had not registered another marriage since her divorce. While I would have argued that this met the "singleness" requirement, the issue never came up, so I guess the divorce document, by itself, was enough. Link to comment
Jeikun
For what it's worth, my lawyer strongly suggested we bring both a single certificate AND the divorce papers. The single certificate should be as recent as possible (definately less than 6 months old in GZs case). Maybe they won't look at it at all after all, but it's relatively cheap and easy to get, so hey why not? Link to comment
warpedbored
It is listed as a requirement so get it. It is not that difficult to get and you don't want to leave anything to chance at interview. They don't look at very much anyway but you never know what they will ask for. Link to comment
