lele
anyone knows good travel agency in Boston that sell tickets to China Chengdu from Boston?I just got a friend of mine a ticket from Boston to Beijing for 795$US round trip (after all taxes and fees). From Beijing there are many planes every day that go to Chengdu for about 1200RMB, or about 150$US (or you can take the train if you have the time...which is far cheaper but will take 1.5 days), but this company can get it for you for 40% off too. However, the catch is that the airplane company is located in New Jersey (but an e-ticket was issued, so it was a piece of cake). I will not place an ad here, so send me a PM if you want any info on this option. Link to comment

tonado
Just go to Boston's Chinatown and walk in to several travel agencies to get the best prices. I have use Trans Pacific Travel on one trip. There are two other agencies on the same street as China Pearl Restaurant. Link to comment
pkfops
Just some more flight info: United is expected to start service from SFOto GZ via Tokyo in March and then ungradeto a direct nonstop. I post this because I have gone through customsat both SFO and LAX. SFO is far better. It took me90 minutes to clear in LAX; they are rude to the MAX. I was truly ashamed at the way the non residentswere treated in LAX. Link to comment

Finally, DragonAir provides Direct Flights from SF, LA, and NYC to HK. I just do not see the benefit of paying more money on united than on Air China, to have to stop in Narita. Additionally, at the right places in Chinatown, if you take the Air China flight into BJ, they can often purchase you a connecting flight at 50% off, so long as they are bundled together (useful for anyone going anywhere other than BJ, GZ, SH, HK, or a short train ride from one of them). If you look at a globe, it is usually *out of the way* and *longer* to stop first at Narita. Plus, what Chinese people want to give the extra airport taxes to a country that has just listed china as a military threat? Most that *i* know would be happy to have a shorter flight in addition to not transferring any extra money to Japan. Oh, There are also direct flights from Vancouver, but I am not sure if you can come through customs that way... I am sorry that you were treated unfairly by customs. It is a sorry state of affairs, living with all of the prejudice that we are surrounded by through this entire process and thanks to this entire government. Link to comment
