To be scheduled

Recommended Posts

I got GZ consulate's reply days ago.

"Dear Ms. XXX,

Thank you for your email.

Please be advised that the case is queuing up to be scheduled. Due to heavy

workload volume, it seems that the interview will be in approximately a few

months. We will notify you after the appointment date is set."

I sent the P3 to GZ on 07/20/2004.We also called DOS and they said they received our package.According to the info from 001.com,it seems that I have to wait for couple of months to get the APL.Is that true???Thank you.

Frank is right. A few months is their stock answer. When I emailed them last winter asking when Bing's interview would be scheduled they replied that it is not unusual for it to be six months. She received P-4 about a week later.

I received the same reply this morning

"Based on our current schedule we will schedule the applicant for an interview in a few months."

It has been my experience that they don't even look to see what the true status of the person’s paperwork is. When we sent our p-3 to them and called to follow up on it they said they had not received it. They had my fiancé redo all the forms for p-3 and told her to fax it to them immediately. She did as they asked. She made a special trip to go to a shop that had a fax machine, however, the fax machine at GZ would not accept due to an error on the GZ side. My fiancé was quite frustrated with the situation at this point and went home. After calming down a bit she started doing some detective work. She called EMS ,the postal carrier that delivered our p-3, and got the tracking information on our package. then she called the White Swan Hotel and talked to them. She was able to find out that the package was signed for by the hotel, and then that it had been signed for by the consulate staff.

At this point, my fiancé sent a reply back to GZ informing them that she was unable to send them the fax because of an error on their side of the connection. It went a little something like this:

“I am writing you again in regards to status of my case;

This morning, as instructed by your last email on July X, in which you

asked me to resend my P3 by Fax, I attempted to fax them to the number you specified three times, however, I was unable to send due to some problem on your end of the connection. This is the number which I was told by your office to fax my P3 packet to is as follows; XXX-XXXXXXXX. As I said, I tried several times this morning and was unable to get your machine to accept.

I sent my P3 to you using EMS on June xth(first week) 2004. I tracked my package to you using the tracking number provided by EMS. Today, I called and spoke with the concierge at the White Swan Hotel; they informed me that the package was picked up at 15:00 on June Xth(first week), 2004 by your staff. Could you please kindly double check to see if you have eceived this package whose EMS tracking number is ELXXXXXXXCN.

I am concerned as to whether my processing will be complicated by resending my P3 to you by fax.”

GZ replied the same day with:

“We have received your Form 230-I today. The interview will occur in about

four months, we will notify you after arrange the appointment date.”

They had it the whole time! They just could not be bothered to check for it and insisted that we jump through more hoops while our paperwork sat in a pile in the corner.

I just received a reply for GZ as well. P3 was sent in end of June. Response was a big zero.

"Please note that the case is now under processing for an interview

scheduling. Once we complete it, we will notify you."

I sent another request asking why they even offer the email service for inquires if they aren't going to answer them. Hope I don't piss them off.

jjbucko, I truly understand your frustration, but believe me, you don't want to do this to GZ, it's unuseful to fight the system. I'm starting to get very worried about our second name check (3 months and counting) and looking at the answer you got from GZ my best guess is that they haven't completed your second name check either. None of the people I know from Candle whose P3's were registered around the same time as ours had their security clearance completed yet. This implies that a "few months" will turn into at least 6 more months. ;)

When I talked to DOS last week they said that all of my fiance's paperwork was completed and she was in que for her appointment scheduling. that tells me that her name checks are all done. The person I spoke to on the phone volunteered that information to me when I asked if the status had been updated at all since the last time I called. Our P-3 was sent to GZ in early June.

;)

I've received different respomses over the last two months..Here they are

1. Your interview should be Nov or Dec

2. Your interview should be Dec or Jan

Todays response from a bristly operator:

"Your case is in administrative processing".....since Sept 1st...what the hell

does that mean ?

I think Clifford knows more about administrative processing (from our perspective) than just about anybody.

This morning I called DOS and was told my fiancee is waiting to be scheduled for an interview with a namecheck pending. Then the "Visa Specialist" said to wait a minute and mumbled to herself as she was checking a list. A few seconds later she said the namecheck has been completed. It makes me believe 'name check pending' is just a habitual response. I am elated that ours is done.

Now.... when will we get P4?

An official at GZ told me that visa processing is controlled by "manpower" - they allot so many people in the K visa section to do all of the work. Whatever the number of employees is, they do all of the work. If there is a dumptruck full of applications, they are processed by the number of people. If GZ had 10 zillion applications, they are worked on one at a time. AND the holidays also adds to the crunch in time.

I kept saying, "hurry up and wait...."

If you get anxious, welcome to the club. If you feel/express your frustrations here, we all understand. I did it time after time. ( while I was in the "hurry up and wait" mode).

Sarah and my stepson Xiao Xiao are now here. We are family building and experiencing the frustrations and joys (gee this sounds like Dr. Phil!!) of married/family life!

:D
