Guest Gene
First You Need to Jump Up and Down Many Times and Yell Yaaaahooooooo Then give it a few days and call the National Visa Center(NVC) 1-603-334-0700, get a hold of a human and give them your case number, her name and birthdate. They will give you a GUZ number. Your file then goes through a security check usually about two weeks, but some people have had problems with that so keep checking the status weekly with a phone call. Then they will send it to the consulate in Guangzhou. CONGRATULATIONS Link to comment
dmaddox74
First of all...many thanks for responding to my posting...!!!! Second, I tried to call the NVC a few times and I'm disconnected because they are too busy. When is a good time to call? Do I need a Guz number? Link to comment
Guest Gene
Just keep trying..........They will give you the GUZ number....You give them your case number, her name and birthdate......Do not use the automated system K visa's are not there long enough to be put in there Link to comment
frank1538
It is certainly good to hear that this phase of the process has ended. Now you have the honor of having to deal with yet another governmental agency, first in the states (NVC) and then in China. Hang in there and it will be over one day. Best of luck to you. perryf
I don't like waking up early, and I'm in Ca. I heard I would have to wake up at 5:30 am if I wanted to be sure to get thru at the NVC. However, I did send an email after about 3 weeks to NVCInquiry@state.gov. I supplied my I797 case number, my name, her name and her birthday. I received an email later that day with my GUZ number. I was able to use the GUZ number this week on their automated system to here that the I864 and DS3032 were mailed out this Monday. PF Link to comment

umgoblue
Wow that is great news, I'm jealous! Seems the k3 is faster than k1. I remember back in February thinking which would be better, and decided on K1 partially because would have to wait 3 months for vacation time to allow another china trip. But I read so many things that said k3 and k1 are about the same. Our k1 started mid-march, just 6 weeks after you and you already have your visa now, and we are thinking another 5 months. Anyway, congrats, great job, good luck too! dmaddox74
Hey PF or can anyone answer what all those terms he used meant? I797 case number GUZ number I864 and DS3032 were mailed out this Monday Link to comment
Guest Gene
I-797 = Notice of Action, NOA GUZ= Guangzhou Number I-864 = Form For Afidavit of support DS-3032 Department of state form for CR-1 or IR-1 Visa Link to comment
perryf
The I797 is the form they mail you to say you were approved. It has a case number assigned by the service center. In 2 to 4 weeks NVC (where you approved visa app is sent next), will assign their own number to your case. Because your app is destined for Guangzhou, the NVC number will start with "GUZ". I think I read elsewhere you were approved first for your I129F. I don't think the NVC sends any paperwork to you for the K3. If your I130 was the approved app, there would be paperwork for you to fill out before your app is mailed overseas. Link to comment
MikeXiao
Sounds like your I-130 was approved. Welcome to the CR-1 train. Link to comment
dmaddox74
My K3 was approved so NVc sends a 797 form to me with a GUZ number? Link to comment
