First You Need to Jump Up and Down Many Times and Yell Yaaaahooooooo

Then give it a few days and call the National Visa Center(NVC) 1-603-334-0700, get a hold of a human and give them your case number, her name and birthdate. They will give you a GUZ number. Your file then goes through a security check usually about two weeks, but some people have had problems with that so keep checking the status weekly with a phone call. Then they will send it to the consulate in Guangzhou.

:D :D CONGRATULATIONS :D :D

I don't like waking up early, and I'm in Ca. I heard I would have to wake up at 5:30 am if I wanted to be sure to get thru at the NVC.

However, I did send an email after about 3 weeks to NVCInquiry@state.gov. I supplied my I797 case number, my name, her name and her birthday. I received an email later that day with my GUZ number. I was able to use the GUZ number this week on their automated system to here that the I864 and DS3032 were mailed out this Monday.

Wow that is great news, I'm jealous! Seems the k3 is faster than k1. I remember back in February thinking which would be better, and decided on K1 partially because would have to wait 3 months for vacation time to allow another china trip. But I read so many things that said k3 and k1 are about the same. Our k1 started mid-march, just 6 weeks after you and you already have your visa now, and we are thinking another 5 months.

Anyway, congrats, great job, good luck too!

That would be awesome, but it looks like he just got his NOA-2. So you're actually about 5 weeks ahead of him. And you filed 6 weeks after...

The I797 is the form they mail you to say you were approved. It has a case number assigned by the service center. In 2 to 4 weeks NVC (where you approved visa app is sent next), will assign their own number to your case.

Because your app is destined for Guangzhou, the NVC number will start with "GUZ".

I think I read elsewhere you were approved first for your I129F. I don't think the NVC sends any paperwork to you for the K3. If your I130 was the approved app, there would be paperwork for you to fill out before your app is mailed overseas.
