Thanks Mark, and plizzzzz don't lose them. Will you do us a favor? Can you compare them to the candle forms and tell us if there's any difference? Don mentioned there's a paragraph which is not included in the candle forms, I guess it should be in the Optional Form 169. I wonder if DS-230 and Optional Form 169 are two-sided forms. Will you be so kind to check this up for us? Can the beneficiary choose to send this forms in chinese only?

Hello Mari, well in her package, there was no form 169. Now has far as the DS-230, yes it is a 2 sided form. Now as far as filling them out, my wife had to fill out in english, now there is an optional form 167, which is, are you ready, Evidence which my be presetned to meet the public charge provisions of the law, which in essence is the I-134.

I will look at the forms on CFL and try to find what you mean by that paragraph.

Now as far as the bar code, on the DS-156, both the Chinese version and the English, there is the word BARCODE right about where the photo is attached. Maybe this is what they are meaning.

Thanks Mark, and sorry for the inconvenience. After reading all posts from our friends here, I made a decision: we"ll wait around one more week for the new P3 sent by GZ to reach the new mailing address, if he doesn't receive it this time, I want him to go to GZ to get it, and I think it will be a good idea to fill it out there and just leave it at once. I don't want to lose any more time, time is precious around here, don't ya think?

Mari~!

Hope you check it out first ~!!

Fei lives in GZ, and since some of her mail (letters and packages from me) neve made it to her, I suggested she call the Consulate and arrange to pick up the p-3 in person ----THE CONSULATE WOULDN'T ALLOW IT ! So I hope you have checked to see if they will accept a "hand delivered" p-3...

Good Luck,

Kim

Kim, thanks for your advice, I"ll definitely make sure that GZ will allow him to get inside the consulate for this, as I"ll make my dear catch a plane only to do this matter. I expect this time to be luckier, as I've given a safer mailing address.Reading the DS-230 carefully, I noticed this message at the botttom: "This form may be obtained free at consular offices of the United States of America"??????. I asked DOS about him picking up the P3 at Beijing, they said it can only be done at GZ. StillWaitingforK1, I got no idea on how things work in GZ, and understand why you may feel upset. If you look at the timelines here, you will see that the norm in most of the cases had been for the beneficiary to receive the P3 around 5 weeks after NVC sends the package to GZ. Anyway, it's finally on its way, and I wish a speedy process for you guys.

I just think it's a matter of luck for some people, for example, just look at the couples who had filed their I-129F's thru Vermont lately. Anyway, I'm just praying for that package to get safely to its destination this time, as I was hoping to have a wedding before the end of this year  ....

Mari,

Talking about precious time, how is it that you got your P3 before me?  I thought GZ goes by FIFO rule.  Mine cleared NVC on April 30th, sent to GZ May 3rd and cleared customs May 12th.  GZ sent P3 June 30th.      :D

I have a feeling it has something to do with who is assigned what box of documents, or what box gets opened first. I've been waiting a while for GZ to admit they have the file. It's been there since the beginning of June.

Hello Mari, you are more than welcome. Now has far as picking it up in person, I believe that they know that it was mailed after a period of time, you can pick up the forms again, as long as they have already been mailed.

As far as delivering in person, no, you have to EMS them. My wife lived about 3-4 blocks from the conulsate and could not hand deliver, but when she called and said that the P-3 was mailed on such and such date, they verified it, they had her pick up another package. So unless they have changed this sine February, oh well.

I confirmed with DOS that our P3 was sent on June 21st, as of July 1 we've got  nothing yet!!! I e-mailed the consulate yesterday asking if it was ok to send them a copy of the 3 forms that i got from a friend (I was told by someone who recently received P3 that the forms look the same as the ones made available at the candle site), no answer yet.  I called DOS again today, first they said it could have been sent to our agent (lawyer)????, but my lawyer said  she never receives such forms, the visa specialist also said I can ask the consulate to resend the P3, they should do it at once, as it's just some forms, so I faxed them asking to change mailing address and resend P3.  Has anybody recently had this case, is it ok to send the forms we already got from the candle?  My friend told me the DS230 Part 1 , although expired, was the one they received in P3. Your ideas are much welcomed!!!!  This is something I dreaded will happen.

As I recall from our experience, our first P3 was lost in the mail too. At that time these were sent via regular chinese mail. It was not a problem to get it replaced. But keeping up with your case is essential to a successfull outcome. It kind of pays to be paranoiod, that extra awareness has saved us a lot of lost time. Even then it was no Cake Walk.

God Bless.
