  1. Hi CFL, Congratulations to all the (May and June P3) people that just got their P4 and interview for November 2004. It's about time!!! So, does this mean that July P3 will get a P4 and an interview in December 2004?
  2. scjm, I'm positive that GZ received your package. However, due to the backlog of cases, GZ won't acknowledge receiving your petition until they are ready to send your fiance the P3. I'd waited 10 weeks to get the P3. If your package has cleared customs, then call DOS every other week to get an update. It's pretty difficult to predict how GZ processes the K1 visa. I thought they process it in the order that it was received, but it seems to be random or by a priority date.
  3. With so many backlog cases, has anyone ever wonder why is it that in a country with the most population of people, there's only one consulate within all of China that can adjucate the k-visa? What is the embassy in Beijing and other consular districts (Shanghai, Shenyang & Chengdu) doing then? Why isn't the workload allocated? Just a curious thought...
  4. Hi CFL, Well, my fiance finally received the P3 on July 9, 2004 (10 days after it was sent by GZ). The forms were returned to GZ the next day (7/10/04). Generally, what's the time frame for GZ to register the forms into their computer? Also, how long is the wait for the P4?
  5. Mari, Actually, I'm not upset at all. I'm happy that you got your P3. My fiance and I will be living and working in Guangzhou for another year (we're both foreigners). I'm just a bit curious as to how GZ processes the K visa. It seems as though they don't go by the order that it's received.
  6. Mari, Talking about precious time, how is it that you got your P3 before me? I thought GZ goes by FIFO rule. Mine cleared NVC on April 30th, sent to GZ May 3rd and cleared customs May 12th. GZ sent P3 June 30th.
  7. I have noticed that if I keep my email short and precise, GZ seems to reply in just a matter of hours and at most was a day or two regardless of the subject title. Try it.
  8. Maui, Thanks for the reply. I just confirm it with DOS and GZ that P3 was sent on June 30th. How much longer do you think we have to wait for the P4? Think we'll get an interview date by end of August or early September?
  9. Hi CFL: Has anyone with a petition that cleared NVC in May 2004 and has already received a P3 from Guangzhou? I'm still waiting for it. Cleared NVC on May 3, 2004.
  10. Hi Folks, Any activity on the P3 from GZ lately? NVC sent my petition to GZ on May 3, 2004. I called DOS today and still no P3. What's the current time frame for a P3?
  11. To All, Well, I would like to know if anyone has received a P3 in the last few weeks. Currently, what's the time frame for the P3 and P4? NVC forwarded the petition to GZ on May 3, 2004 and received by GZ on May 12, 2004 but status of P3 still unknown. Thank you. Timeline: 09/16/03 - Filed I-129F @ CSC 09/18/03 - NOA1 04/07/04 - NOA2 04/30/04 - NVC Cleared 05/03/04 - NVC forwarded petition to GZ via DHL 05/12/04 - DHL shipment cleared customs & delivered P3? P4? Interview?
  12. Hello Folks, Well, I called NVC early today and I was told that the security clearance has been approved and the petition has been forwarded to GZ on Monday, May 3, 2004. Anyway, just wanted to say thank you to all for your help and support. It's been a long and frustrating wait....and still waiting but getting closer to a new beginning...
  13. Hi All, My fiance is from Russia and she is living and working in Guangzhou, China. She will be interviewing for her K1 visa in Guangzhou. NVC received my K1 petition on April 09, 2004 and I received a letter from NVC on April 20, 2004 stating that the petition will be sent to Guangzhou within a week. When I called NVC to get the date of the petition being forwarded to GZ, the operator said that the security check has not been completed yet. Has anyone else experienced this? Or did I misread the NVC letter? What is the content of the NVC letter sent to the petitioner when the security check is completed? Below is the letter that I received from NVC. Please advise. Thank you! Letter from NVC: Dear Petitioner: The State Department's National Visa Center has recently received an approved I-129F petition filed on behalf of your fiance. This letter is to let you know that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where your visa interview will take place. Our records show that you filed the I-129F petition for: Name of Fiance: XXX INS Receipt Number: WAC... Case Number: GUZ... The case will be processed at: Post: Guangzhou Consulate General of the United States, Visa Unit 1 Shamian Street South Guangzhou 510133 People's Republic of China Your fiance will soon receive a packet with instructions for the consular section at this post on how to apply for the K1 visa at that post and what documents will be required. Sincerely, Burea of Consular Affairs
