Today is the first day of the Chinese Lunar New Year - the year of the tiger. I'm sending my good wishes to you all. Here's a Chinese piece which is a favourite at this celebration - Flower Drum. Traditionally, the song was sung by a young woman who simultaneously beat a flower-decorated-drum attached to her waist, accompanied by a man playing a percussion instrument, often a small gong. Since recording this piece on Sketches of China, I've changed my arrangement a little. This home recording of the latest arrangement is played on a guitar by Zbigniew Gnatek.
