Bing is in Guangzhou

Hmmmmmmmmm! I think you have a good idea Wayne.  If I build up the toilet she can feel at home and I can use it without needing a crane to get up again.  The problem is that if I build it up to a good toilet level for me, it will be nose level for her.  Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Trigg

Ok,

The european / italian style of toilets are square, with a hole in the middle, and two foot pads. They look somewhat like a shower floor.

I think you could just install one in your shower. It would then function as dual purpose..... Shower floor when you want to shower.... Toilet when you need to do your business. To flush, simply turn on the shower :D :D :D :D

And, if you like to piddle in the shower.... No problem :D :D

And, to save time in the mornings, you could do your business and shower at the same time :) :) :) ;)

Ok,

Here is a platform that I found.... You could consider it.

Or, another one.

Only the in the floor one gets used. the other bathroom is the live chicken coop.. go fiqure ,not far to chase a chicken when it's dinner time.

I am pretty sure you can get dog slippers at your local sporting goods store, or pet specialty stores

I think we tried it with our dog once. The granite rocks in Idaho were tearing up his pads. Unfortunately, we didn't have "booties" on the camping trip. The best we could come up with were wool socks which I think we ducttaped onto his paws  He didn't really like them, but it helped keep him from hurting his feet.

I just don't know if you are going to survive Carl. Now you are counting hours (21). soon minutes--then seconds--nano-seconds..  Valium and beer--valium and beer---valium and beer-valium and beer....

19 hrs 25 minutes and 15 seconds

I just got off the phone with Bing. She is very worried now since some people she talked to today told her the interview is very difficult. I told her the interview is easy but she seems a little shaken. I'm beginning to think my not being there is a mistake. She really needs me right now and a phone call can't replace a warm body for reassurance.

Carl,

Everything will be ok.

As I understand it, the interview is a "piece of cake" for 90% of the interviewees. It is difficult, but survivable for the other 9% or so, and, well, a nightmare for the last 1%.

Odds are that you won't fall into the last 1%.

More than anything the wait will just be nerve racking for her. But she will be ok.

I'm new to this forum, thanks to the help from friends at chinacp, which is a Yahoo! discussion group for Chinese citizens who choose consular processing immigration. In other words, we are going through a similar process as your loved ones.

From what i read on that forum, the interview is really easy for 99.9% of them, so tell Bing not to worry and stop listening to those 'liars' outside the embassy! Some of them may work for companies that promise you they can get everything done for you (and charge you) so they have to make it sound very difficult. Though you are not at her side, let her know that she has to believe YOU. unless she has some criminal record (by mistake), she should be fine.

I noticed that a lot of people here got their name check cleared pretty fast, I've been waiting for more than 3 months! Anyway, just want to share some information that I know.

I talked to Bing this morning. It appears that misinformation abounds around GZ. Many people tell her it is difficult. I keep telling her it is easy but none the less she is worried. I have warned her about shysters outside the compound. I also told her she would know right after interview if she passed or not but she seems to think they wont tell her until tomorrow. Anyone heard anything like this? Interview is in about 7 hours I guess I'll learn soon after. The fingernails and meat up to the first knuckle are gone.

I ran into this situation as well. Cindy went to GZ for some help with the P3 paperwork. She came back filled with mis-information. She was convinced that the interview was very difficult if she was not good with English and that the visa was very hard to get, and some other rubbish.

Of course all of that could be fixed for $2,000 USD. She was convinced we had to pay one of those companies or she would not get the visa. It took some time, but she finally understood.
