A new hotel in Wu Cai Tian Yuan, or 5 Color Fields. I'm not sure what the lettering says - it seems to be Geng du Shan Zhuang 耕读山庄, or something like "Meeting Place', so I figure I'll call it "5 Color Hotel".

 

"Cultivate reading. . . Villa" seems to be the best translation of 耕读山庄 that Google can come up with.

We went there for the Western restaurant - we had to ask at the Chinese restaurant

 

 

This was it!

 

 

The beer was good!

 

 

Spagheti and meatballs (or "noodles" as it's known in China)

 

 

The steaks were better than you usually get - ribeye was ¥138, Jiaying's was ¥128 (sirloin ?)

 

 

for a total of ¥300 (expensive)

There are only two roads to the hotel - the other one is clogged with vendors, pedestrians, motorcycles, and 3/4 of a lane of one-way-at-a-time traffic

Except for the bushes in front, these are ALL artificial flowers - maybe next year they can grow their own

The "5 Color Hotel" looks pretty awesome. Would love to visit there - and Yulin in general - if the cash flow vector ever intersects with dreams.

 

As it stands, my future visits will be family obligations so I won't get to see much of China outside of the home province.
