tj408
Has anybody did the interview without notarized copy of birth? I e-mailed the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) Office in Guangzhou, China. and asked them. They told me her passport was good enough. Now has anybody on this forum interviewed with out it? Nope - NOBODY ever has! I have no idea why they would say that, or why you would want to try. It's possible that they're assuming she has a Medical Certificate of Birth (these were issued for births after 1996), but even these have been rejected if the applicant does not have the white book copy. dnoblett
You may be confusing notarized copies, with documents from the notary office. All Chinese documents, birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce certificate, police certificate, and attached translations are issued by the notary offices. Sometimes police certificate is acquired at the PSB and then translated at the notary office. Asked often see topics tagged Notary Documents... http://candleforlove.com/forums/tags/Notary Documents/ Edited January 2, 2021 by Randy W (see edit history) Link to comment

tj408
Thanks for all the replies. Yes I messed up in my wording of the question. To submit the i-130 she doesn't need it...to complete the interview she needs it. Been here too long...forgot how to properly ask a "common sense" question. HAHA Link to comment
Muscley_Love
You're going to need a notarized copy of a birth certificate for her (or that white book) for the interview in Guangzhou. Link to comment
