eikogs
How long is it taking for others to receive their welcome letter and green card after entering the US? My wife entered on October 2 through ORD and we have not received anything in the mail yet. I did pay the $165 immigration fee the day before we entered. Is there anyplace I can track it online? I found https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do but think I need a receipt number that comes in the welcome letter to use it. Link to comment
dnoblett
Sounds like lost in mail, I have been chatting with someone who landed Nov 3 who has card in hand. Typically 3 to 6 weeks for card production. First I would check here: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do try using I-130 receipt number. If website has nothing then I probably would call USCIS or schedule an infopass. Note the passport and immigrant visa serves as a temp green card for up to one year, per the I-551 notatation on the visa. Link to comment
eikogs
Thanks for the info. When I enter the I-130 receipt number, it tells me that they approved my I-130 over a year ago, but nothing for the Green Card. I found a phone number here: https://infopass.uscis.gov/infopass.php Does that look like the right number/office to call? Link to comment

Perhaps an email confirmation? Only two ways to talk with USCIS either at this number 1-800-375-5283 or by scheduling an appointment to your field office via infopass, the system will show offices based on your zipcode They may end up having you file an I-90 form if they determine that somehow it was lost in the mail, sometimes the post office returns items as undeliverable. eikogs
I called USCIS and found out the reason we have not received the Green Card is because they have not received the packet of materials from Customs and Boarder Security. I have tried calling the CBS phone number (1-877-227-5511) over 20 times and can't get through. Anyone know of a better number to use, or a more specific office I should be contacting? Our POE was Chicago ORD. Edited December 22, 2015 by eikogs (see edit history) Link to comment

Spidercat
When calling the USCIS - how do you guys get past the seemingly endless auto menu loop and talk to a real person? Link to comment
wawster
Hi guys,Just a bit of data. My wife and stepson entered the US via O'Hare POE on January 26th. We received their green cards on Saturday, February 27th. It took almost exactly a month for them to show up. 1 Link to comment
