ELIS Applicant change of address

Recommended Posts

In an e-mail Elis (not USCIS) reply to a non-address related issue I received this today:

"If you need to update your address only the applicant may do so and MUST complete BOTH steps below:

  1. Complete an AR-11 address update by:
  • Selecting https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAForm.do.
  • Use your Alien Registration Number, NOT your USCIS ELIS Receipt Number.
  • You will be asked if your change of address is for an application or petition currently in progress. Select “NO” and continue as directed.
  1. Create a Change of Address service request by:

Please provide the following information for all applicants:

• Full names (including ALL other names ever used);

• Date of birth;

• Current Address;

• Previous Address;

• A-File number(s); and

• Receipt number(s).

Please be advised that a USCIS Immigration Services Officer will call you (the applicant), in order to verify your identity prior to changing the address.

We hope this information is helpful.

Sincerely,"

My emphasis on this part "a USCIS Immigration Services Officer will call you (the applicant), in order to verify your identity prior to changing the address."

And here is good place to remind about this. Our A#- is only 8 digits long.

The fill in the blanks for A#s are all 9 boxes long. The solution is that you must enter a '0' (Zero not Oh) in the first box.

Also if you have filed an I-864 to support and the sponsor moves then an I-865 needs to be filed, this is done in the mail.
