pinoy0320
Dear all, We filed for DCF a couple months back and we have not heard any response yet from the Beijing US Consulate. Does anyone know the best way to check the status of our application? Do we contact Guangzhou or Beijing? If anyone can provide a email or phone number that would be great. Thank you. Best regards,Julian Link to comment
dnoblett
You did provide them your email address when you filed the petition? Form G-1145 In all cases use email When sending inquiry provide them information to identify case typically name and DOB of petitioner and beneficiary, also include your email address. pinoy0320
Yes, I provided both mine and my wife's emails in the G-1145. Thanks again. Link to comment
jwdoetsch
This poster was having the same issue: http://candleforlove.com/forums/topic/47553-dcf-on-25112014still-waiting/ All the holidays coinciding with each other and the winter season is probably the best explanation as to why things have been moving so slowly. The poster in that thread got an email notification after about 70 days. Make sure to check your spam-filter folders too! 1 Link to comment
L.G.
When I filed they told me that if I did not hear back by the 60th day, the preferred way to contact them was email and to provide not only what dnoblett mentions above, but also a scan of your passport ID page so they can confirm it is in fact you emailing them. pinoy0320
I got a quick reply and was given an approval notice attached! In the attachment it said that they forwarded it to the Guangzhou consulate. Do I just wait for another notification for the next step? Link to comment
jwdoetsch
So your wait was a total of about 73 days, yeah? This seems like a trend for people that filed around Thanksgiving last year... Link to comment
dnoblett
Yep you wait for Guangzhou to contact you regarding documents and scheduleing interview. Link to comment

This seems like a trend for people that filed around Thanksgiving last year...which makes me even more amazed that I got my approval within two weeks. Told the wife about the other situations and she is now worried they missed something or did something incorrectly because it was so quick. I should have kept my mouth shut Link to comment

I hope (accounting for Spring Festival) that our approval is as fast... Link to comment
