Snowman87
My wife had the interview today and did great. She said she was one of the only few speaking English the entire interview. So proud of her!Even though my fathers income as reported on his I-864 exceeds their standards, they requested an I-864a from my mother.Few questions:First, I planned on submitting her passport with the documents. Confirming this is the correct course of action.Second, my fathers I-864 would technically be incorrect since we did not include my mothers income. Should I worry about this or assume they can do the math?Third: how much time does this usually take? Thanks 1 Link to comment
Randy W
Another example that 'enough' isn't always ENOUGH. The consulate is required by law to make a determination , above and beyond what is on the I-864 that the intending immigrant will not become a burden on society. Even so, they may simply be requiring her signature. If your father broke out his own income seperataly, then simply have your mother list her own income on her I-864. Yes, the consulate can do the math. Link to comment
Snowman87
Thanks for the reply. I do not think it is a money issue. I think since my parents file jointly he decided he want it. Like you said, they may just want the signature. At least we know how to advise other people who come asking. Link to comment
