There are MANY different stories about where each of these words MAY have come from, although most of the ones I checked up on include the stories these guys gave as possible origins. Honcho, I would have thought came from Spanish - apparently not. The words are brainwashing, chop chop, gung ho, ketchup, tea, tycoon, typhoon, tofu, honcho, karaoke, and futon. 1 Link to comment
