Guest ExChinaExpat
I called the NVC today and they provided me a new case number for my K1/K2 (begins with GUZ). Now that I have this case number does it enable me start other processes online? It's very difficult to find clear information about this new process. Link to comment
dnoblett
Nothing to do until the consulate contacts the Beneficiary. Once the consulate receives the case file they will contact beneficiary directing you here: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-iv-visastatusinfo.asp You can set up an account on that site, however probably will not allow anything until they first make contact. What you can do is contact them via this page: http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/immigrant-visa-unit-question.html and provide them fiancee's contact info such as email address and phone numbers, this should help them some once they receive the case file. Note: Depending on how NVC sends case to consulate it can take a month or three to get from NVC to GUZ. Link to comment
Guest ExChinaExpat
Thanks Dan. The NVC said the K1 package would be sent to GZ in 7-10 days. K interviews now happen in two months or less after NOA2. Question, I saw a checklist on ustraveldocs that indicated k-applicants must complete and provide a detailed resume of all education and work history. Isn't that redundant to the ds160? Don't recall seeing this as a k requirement. Link to comment
