jesser30
My wife and I got married in China ,6 December 2011. She Came to the US on 16 December 2012 and has her 2 year green card. She also has her US drivers license and her SSN card. She is wanting to fly back to China for a week or 2 in the next few weeks. Is there some way for her to get a US passport? Does she just use her Chinese passport? Will she have any problems getting back into the US? Anything that I might need to do? or that we should be worried about? Randy W
Yes - she can get a U.S. passport after she becomes a U.S. citizen. She will be eligible to apply after being married to you for three years (eligibility comes three years after the green card date). U.S. passports are for U.S. citizens ONLY. Her Chinese passport is all she needs to get into China. Her green card will allow her to leave China and also to re-enter the U.S. Edited September 20, 2013 by Randy W (see edit history)
