griz326
There was something on the Republic of Ireland's website about a UK visa being honored for short term visitors from XXX countries. China was one of those countries.Does anyone know if I need to get the wife both visas or will one do?BTW - try getting a phone number for either Ireland or the UK visa offices #@$&!# !!! dnoblett
Nope, Republic of Ireland is NOT part of UK. A UK visa should be valid for Scotland, Wales, England, and possibly Northern Ireland, (Belfast) if say short visit, then go for UK visa The Republic of Ireland is part of the EU however not part of the Schengen Visa program, will need a separate visa for Ireland. http://www.schengenvisa.cc/http://ukinusa.fco.gov.uk/en/visiting-uk/visas/ Glad my wife is a US citizen, that nice blue passport will be nice when we eventually visit Europe. griz326
I found the document that I thought might make Lao Po exempt. http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Visa%20Waiver%20Programme%20Information%20Note%20March%202012.pdf/Files/Visa%20Waiver%20Programme%20Information%20Note%20March%202012.pdf I wish bureaucrats spoke English! It seems to be spelled out pretty explicitly that you CAN enter Ireland FROM the UK without the need for an additional visa. Link to comment
warpedbored
That would me my take on it too Randy. I would advise contacting the Irish consulate and ask them. Link to comment
