Cold cure

I was given a recipe for a cure for a cold it is

2 cups water

1/2 cup of the white part of green onion

1/2 cup chopped ginger

crystal sugar to taste

 

boil until only 1 cup of water remains then sweeten and drink hot

 

I will let you know how it is in the morning if I am still alive

My mom boils coke with ginger and scallions. It tastes pretty good and suppose to make you feel better.

Throw some garlic in there and you will about have the same thing that my wife recommends.

Of all things, I celebrated MLK Day by having a root canal!....ouch! In pain for the next six days, my wife tried to get me to put ginger on it, to put garlic on it. She did concoct a mouth rinse out of vinegar and pepper for me to use. I tried it and it was tolerable and maybe even had helped some but I had to explain to her that all these herbal remedies are good but they have nothing on popping a couple of "lorcet plus" tablets!..........

well I am still alive and it did loosen up my chest I think, but it burned going down.

I remember that when I was there, my wife got me some of this herbal tea, thick and black, and it was some of the nastiest tasting stuff, then her mother made me something different, and it was supposed to be sweet I guess that their idea of sweet and mine are completely different.
