I-129f Questions

Does the alien fiancee address and her employer addresses have to be typed in English on the I-129f, or can it be typed with Chinese characters?

My recollection is that the I-129F is the basis for later mailings to her. So for for Q.15 and Q.16, try to enter chinese characters. Or leave it blank and have her write it in clearly later.

In our case her home address was a PO box, and employer address was well known.

 

Do not literally translate address to English, we used pin-yin address for home and work without problems.

 

If she has an email address and phone number you may also note this on an attached sheet, I have seen the consulate using email or phone as a form of contact.

 

Lastly when in doubt, wait for the I-129F approval, then wait about 3-4 weeks after that and then you can call DOS visa services ( (202) 663-1225 )and find out if and when P3 was sent. Once finding out that it has been sent, you can then mail back to consulate OF-169, DS-230 Part 1, copy of passport bio page, and a mailing address label.
