Travel with Green Card?

Hi

 

My question is whether I can travel in the united states with my green card and Chinese passport? My husband and I want to take a vacation in Hawaii, but i haven't gone to the DMV to apply for a California ID yet.

In one word. YES. Also Hawaii is a state, it is a domestic flight.

 

You can also travel In Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean Countrys with Green Card and passport, NO Visa needed there. Also can travel through Hong Kong with 7 day stay there also.

 

My wife an I have traveled extensively throughout the USA since she came here on her K-1.

 

Once she had green-card, we left the passport home for all domestic travel within the USA, passport not needed to board planes, just green-card for the 50 states. Passport+green-card needed for travel to Canada, Mexico and Caribbean.

Do you guys know what european countries or other asian countries our chinese spouse can travel to with just a chinese passport and green card.

All European require either a visa for that country, or the Shengen Visa.

If the Aisian country required a visa before, they still require a visa to visit.

We are hoping to travel to Europe next year. I see the Shengen Visa covers most European countries but notably NOT the UK. So those who plan to tour Europe, make note you need a separate visa for the UK... bummer...

 

We are planning to travel to Grand Cayman, BWI in November and I saw that the green card is good enough there, hopefully she will have it by then, otherwise will need to get a UK visa I think?
