My Application is on it's way USCIS

Well folks, my petition for my lao po's visa went in the mail yesterday. Easy to to remember the date.

 

Here is the background of our EOR and general info based on David's list:

 

EOR

06/2010 ¨C We met each other on an internet dating site (Chinese Kisses). We eventually decide to use Yahoo IM as our primary source of communication because it allows us to text, see, and speak with each other.

08/2010 ¨C I traveled to China to meet Yuhong in person. Yuhong and I spend 10 days together. We went to see attractions in Chengdu, I was introduced to, and we spent time with, her friends and her family.

08/13/2010 - I arrive in Chengdu, China.

08/16/2010 - We had a romantic dinner together (this was the 7th day of the 7th lunar month, the Chinese Valentine¡¯s day). .

08/21/2010 ¨C We have dinner with her family.

08/24/2010 - I returned to the U.S.

08/25/2010 - We resume our twice daily chat sessions.

09/2010 ¨C 10/2010 - I take advantage of an opportunity to be able to return to China and visit Yuhong again. Yuhong and I spend the next 13 days together. The first nine (9) days we stayed in Chengdu and the remaining days were spent in her home city of Deyang.

09/28/2010 - I arrive in Chengdu, China. We spend the next few days alone together.

10/02/2010 ¨C We spend time with Yuhong¡¯s brother and her friends.

10/08/2010 ¨C We visit Yuhong¡¯s home in Deyang. She shows me where she works. We shared a family meal then we visited her parents in their home. We also visit her two older sisters at their homes.

10/09/2010 ¨C We have dinner with Yuhong¡¯s colleagues from work.

10/10/2010 ¨C I returned to the U.S.

10/11/2010 - We resume our twice daily chat sessions.

9. Her english ability?

She has limited English but is improving and she is taking lessons. I

can

read and speak some Mandarin (I wrote her a short letter in Chinese a few weeks ago. My writing is terrible though). We use a translation tool to assist

us

as we need it.

 

 

 

I have front loaded the application with everything I could think of that might raise a flag.

 

Now the long and agonizing wait begins.

One issue I see is shortness of relationship prior to filing, this is one of the things that can cause issues.

 

In my case I met my Yu online September, emailed, phone and chatted online until July of following year, then I traveled to China to meet in person, filed petition shortly after that. I had been to China once before meeting my wife, and again when she interviewed which was the week after spring festival. I had traveled to China to experience spring festival with my wife.
