Eric
Has anyone else noticed this?? I haven't seen it posted on the board - SIAP. It could be beneficial for some of our relatives who apply for tourist visas. VISA APPOINTMENT INFORMATION U.S. Embassy and Consulates Liberalize Interview Appointment Policy Effective immediately, non-immigrant visa applicants may book interview appointments at any U.S. Consular Section in China, regardless of the province or city where they live. Consular Sections are located at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing and U.S. Consulates General in Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Shenyang. http://beijing.usembassy-china.org.cn/visa...nformation.html Link to comment
dnoblett
Note this WILL NOT have any effect on K-Visas which are handled as an IMMIGRANT visa and will remain handled in Guangzhou because Guangzhou is the only consulate in China that has the Immigrant Visa unit. Link to comment
Scott@Hong
Though it will not cover K visas it might lesson the load on Guangzhou and speed up the immigrant Visa interview scheduling a little if it frees up a few people there that have been handling the non stop flood of non immigrant Visas. Eric
Even though it has no effect on K visas, it can be a great benefit to some of our relatives who apply for tourist visas. My in-laws who live in Fujian will soon be applying for their B-2s and it will be much more convenient for them to have their interview in Shanghai rather than GUZ. Link to comment
