wawayu
Sorry I am so clueless. Someone at the notary office where my fiance got her notarized certificates for birth, police record and single status just told her something that I have never heard of. They said she needs to go to "Hubei Provincial Foreign Affairs Service Center" (http://www.hbfasc.com/zx_e.asp) in Wuhan and get these certificates legalized/authorized so US consulates will accept the stamps and signatures in these certificates. Chinese term is "ÁìÊÂÈÏÖ¤" if anyone here can read the characters. Google Translate has it as "Consular certificate".Has anyone here heard such a thing? The certificates she obtained at the notary office are already in both Chinese and English with the official stamps and everything. What else needs to be "consular certified"?! Link to comment
warpedbored
Sounds like disinformation to me. If the certificates she has are notarial translations with a stamp she needs nothing more. Link to comment
dnoblett
As long as they are in the typical white, bound books she is good to go. All Chinese documentation to be used abroad is processed through the notary offices and issued in the form of notarial certificates. Notarial offices are located in all major Chinese cities and in rural county seats http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...1.html?cid=3537 Sounds like "Misinformation" Link to comment
wawayu
I thought it was just another hoop they make you jump thru while making extra money out of you. Thanks guys for the re-assurance. Link to comment
SmilingAsia
If they are talking about marrying a citizen from Europe or an immigrant visa to Europe, they are right. No need for any certifying by Foreign Affairs Office or ÁìÊÂÈÏÖ¤ if the beneficiary is going to marry an American citizen or apply for an immigrant visa to the US. Link to comment
