bokiwen
Yeah, I got burnt to the tune of about $500 on that! I remember looking two years about the possibility of my wife flying to America for the first time on her CR-1 visa through Air Canada through Toronto. I couldn't make any headway as to how to get a transit visa (I even emailed the Canadian consulate in Guangzhou) just to see if we could get a transit visa. But to answer your question, I have traveled through Canada with Yin and her green card, no problem. Link to comment

b.c
Just saw this on drudge and thought I would post it here for you, Corey. I am sure everything will be fine though. Fears of violence prompted a U.S. State Department recommendation that Americans avoid downtown Toronto next week because the large-scale demonstrations around the June 26-27 summit of the G20 rich and emerging nations could turn nasty. "Even demonstrations that are meant to be peaceful can become violent and unpredictable," the State Department said in a travel alert that expires on June 28. "You should avoid them if at all possible." http://ca.reuters.com/article/topNews/idCATRE65E4RB20100617 Link to comment

We were considering a day trip to Toronto but it looks like it would be best to avoid it this time around. Thanks again for this information. Link to comment

Thanks again for this information. If you note in my Chinatown Thread, there are more Chinese shopping centers than just the down-town one, the ones on the north east side of Toronto "Markham and Richmond Hill" are extensive too, Pacific Mall in Markham is huge. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=37849 Besides I doubt that protests would extend into the downtown Old China Town. b.c
It ended up getting pretty ugly in downtown Toronto. I am curious if you made the trip and how it went. Link to comment
