Interview question

My parents are having their Interview coming. I am curious about what they would ask or look for at such Interview. I mean, in my opinion its not a Marriage based immigration visa, employment based, etc. They are either your parent or not your parent. Some folks bring photos and things. Anyone with experience can tell me what I may need to bring and expect to answer?

 

I am thinking the Interview is just formality and should be a breeze for parents in my opinion, which I could be wrong. Can a parent be denied at the Interview?

I think that the interview will be easy for your parents. Bringing some items to show proof of relationship is always a good idea. So, pictures, copies of documents that prove relationship, knowledge of where they will stay in the US, how they will be supported will be good for them to have just in case they get a zealous CO. It is better to have too much documentation and get approved, than to not have enough and get a blue slip.

My husband's parents have their interview on June 14th. I was just wondering the same thing. If your interview is before ours, please let us know.

My wife's parents were interview August last year.

 

Your parents will be interviewed together.

Only one needs to answer the questions.

 

Questions Asked:

 

1. Who applied for the visa for you?

 

2. Are you a member of to Chinese Communist Party?

 

3. Ask for Taxes.

 

4. Ask for pictures.

 

Yes you need as many pictures as possible.

Old pictures of when daughter/son was old if you have them.

Newer pictures of whole family together with daughter/son and new spouse.

They will still look at how close the family appears.

 

They can be denied or delayed if members of the CCP or for financial reasons.

So it is not just a formality, but the failure denial rate is very low.

Do I need to include a bunch of stuff to prove mine and my husband's relationship (again!) or does that not matter this time?

The only thing we need was the certified copy of our marriage license.
