Signal
I guess I should have followed up on this for anyone else thinking of doing this for their in-laws. To my shock, my mother-in-law was approved for her visitors visa! She arrived in JFK airport on June 11th and will be returning on October 7th. According to my wife the interview was very easy. I prepared my MIL with a package similar to what I did for my Lao Po at her K-1 visa interview with all the required paperwork along with a small assortment of photos and suggested paperwork. At the interview the officer only asked my MIL a few questions, such as who was in one of the photos, and briefly looked over the paperwork she provided. So once again I had good fortune with GUZ. My wife out did me with finding a cheap airline ticket and we got a great deal at the last moment, with the only problem being an overnight stay in Shanghai. But she's here and having a great time with my wife and son. So I guess Mr. Carl was right in that it must be getting easier to get this approval now days. Link to comment
