Vinny
Hi all, I just applied for SS # for my Fiancee. We are planning to go to the court house next week to get married. What do we need? Do we need a Witness (like a friend?) or do we need someone that is certified to sign papers? I don't know or just walk in? Thanks,Vinny Link to comment

Thanks,VinnyMost states require a witness or two at the marriage. AKA "Best Man", ""Bride's Maid" Most places you first apply for a marriage license, and then get married, court house marriage usually involves the judge or just of the piece. In NY State you get the marriage license, and then have to wait at least 24 hours before you can get married. Where do you live? procedure varies by state. (You may want to at least list your state in your profile) http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...rCP&CODE=01 http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&saf...q=&gs_rfai= Edited April 9, 2010 by dnoblett (see edit history) Link to comment

Vinny
Hey Thanks Dan! I called the court house and they said just need to know SS # for myself. For my Fiancee she needs her Passport. We do not need to wait for her SS #. 24 hour waiting period before we can officially tie the knot. License does not expire. Cost $45 for application. Do not need witness if we marry at the court house but it will cost another $40 or just get someone who is authorize to perform marriages. Clergyman, Priest, etc... Thanks,Vinny and Qing Link to comment
