How Renew Chinese Passport for USA Wife

Recommended Posts

Common topic, in the AOS Immigrations forum.

Starts with VISITING the Chinese Consulate having Jurisdiction over where you live. Visiting an other consulate or the Embassy in DC if not the one for where you live may or may not allow you to enter to renew a passport.

You cannot do it by mail.

She must go to the Chinese consulate in person to have it done. If she took your family name when you married this would be a good time to have an addendum done in her passport to reflect that

They caught me by surprise when mail orders were discontinued on January 1, 2007. Last year my wife had no problem getting her daughter a new Chinese passport at the embassy. Just go to the embassy or the consulate that has jurisdiction over the place you reside.

This is a bummer for me. My Son Peipei's has expired. Houston Texas is the one for Georgia. Not sure why my wife didn't renew his before he came.

Brother C you can check with the Ga state gvt and perhaps they will know if and when the Houston Consulate will pay a visit to Ga. If not, it will be a good driving experience for Xuemei.

Another option, if son is age 17 or younger, you can always adopt and get son Citizenship and a US Passport.

Haven't heard anymore about it. Last I heard, the Chinese were trying to decide on GA or San Francisco.
