Shen Yun came to town this weekend, their show had been promoted locally for the past couple of months, so we had to go.

A beautiful show of Chinese dance and music, shares classic and modern stories from China, put to music and dance. Two dance performances had to do with the persecution of the Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) in China.

The innovative use of video projection and live dance was fun to watch.

Shen Yun has three companies that tour all over the world, the company that came to Rochester NY is based out of NYC.

Meet the world's premier classical Chinese dance and music company.

Shen Yun Performing Arts (formerly known as Divine Performing Arts) is a triumph of collaboration, bringing together leading dancers, choreographers, and musicians from around the world. Its productions are unique in being not only tremendously fun and entertaining, but also educational, enriching, and uplifting.

The company’s rich repertory breaks new ground by focusing on the authentic cultural heritage of classical China while also giving artistic treatment to the world around us. Each year, Shen Yun premieres an entirely new program of dances, songs, and musical scores.
