tomandling
If my boyfriend has been working for 7 years at his current employer and he is planning to quit and find a job somewhere else all while having continuous employment, will it affect our chances of getting a cr1 visa ( he plans to come to china and get married in june this year, and then we apply for CR1)? dnoblett
No, other than having to show that he can support you after you come to the USA, affidavit od support will be required of the person filing the petition (US Citizen Spouse) If un-employed at the time that the affidavit of support is required, NVC will request this after USCIS has processed petition, he may need to have a Joint Sponsor provide sponsorship. Kyle
To echo what Dan said: You guys should be fine. I am in the process of securing employment in the United States after living in China with my wife for three years. We obtained a joint sponsor and had no issues getting my wife's IR-1 petition approved. Good luck. Link to comment
